Well equipped, quality of the property and very clean. Bonus with two bathrooms and separate staircases to each bedroom as we had friends staying one night. Everything there we could need. Very comfortable beds. Location great for the North Yorkshire coast. Two good pubs in the village ( West and East Ayton) One of the best cottages we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot.

Parking was a bit tight as I have a big car but it was manageable

Cosy , homely, nice artwork on the walls, modern kitchen great it had a washer and tumbler dryer as it was wet and I had kids. Bathrooms exceptional. Beds were really comfortable and it was in a quiet location

The only things I would say that could be improved on are: Pan stand/trivet for hot items from the cooker. Bath sheets rather than bath towels. Quality good but far too small. A choice of duvet weight. It is a 13.5 tog. Too hot when the weather is 26 degrees!! More toilet rolls. Never enough wherever you go. Larger wine glasses. Biggest size would only fit a sherry in it!! Smell of dampness in twin en-suite. Think its due to having a bath and loose shower head but cant fit a screen or curtain due to sloping ceiling and velux.

A lovely cottage, two knocked into one. Large kitchen diner with stairs to twin room with en-suite. Living room has stairs to double room with en-suite. Utility room with washer, dryer, freezer, iron, ironing board and highchair. Basic needs for crockery, cutlery, pans etc are met. All good quality. Welcome tray with a few tea bags, coffee, biscuits and longlife milk in the fridge. Only salt, pepper, vinegar and tin foil are supplied. You will have to take or buy everything else. All areas are clean and well maintained. The car parking space is across the front windows. Any other cars have to use the road before you turn onto the lane and then into a courtyard area. The rear area is very small. We sat on the bench at the front in the evening and chatted with the neighbours. This was a base for travelling to the coast and surrounding areas so we didnt go into the village at all. Lovely stay that came to an end too quickly. Some constructive criticisms are below, none of which detracted from the property or stay, merely suggestions of what may improve the customer experience.

Location... Garth cottage is just brilliantly tucked away in a little shared hidden courtyard... With a lovely riverside walk only seconds away.... & a welcoming country pub at the end of the lane only a few hundred yards away.... A great location to explore the wonderful North Yorkshire coast & only 15 mins in the car to Scarborough sea front. Spacious enough for a group of 4 adults or family of up to 4... & with most things you'd typically enjoy at home.

Internet connection on the TV was sometimes abit slow. Also it says on the website that there is no capacity for extra beds or cots yet says children of any age welcome. Theres plenty of room in the childrens bedroom to fit a travel cot. Maybe the hosts could be abit more clear of what they mean by this.

Clean and tidy , had everything we need, beds are comfortable and in a peaceful area.

Had requested an early check in at time of booking. Host advised they would confirm nearer the time. Text again on day of arrival to confirm if this was possible due to poor weather, to receive no response until 10pm that night. Only 1 bin bag for 4 adults and no instructions regarding recycling (what is accepted etc) and only 1 toilet roll per bathroom. Beds were very uncomfortable, double bed definitely needs a new mattress as you roll into the middle and the bed creaks terribly.

Lovely cottage and property, ideal small fenced garden for dogs to nip out. Lovely layout and good amenities.

Not enough crockery and cutlery. Had to buy loo roll as only one left. No dish cloth or spray to clean with. Towels not 'fresh smelling' and too small. No instructions for appliances or boiler left or information about local area and things to do...

Location excellent. Comfortable beds. Quiet in evenings. TV great!
