Breakfast was poor, it was late starting, one girl seemed to be doing everything, very boring choice of cereals, no milk put out, our requested toast was warm bread, the coffee wasn’t very hot. The hot breakfasts were available at a very reasonable extra cost but that wasn’t what we wanted.

There’s no reception so it’s hard to know where to go you go into the bar and when you have cases it’s difficult but would not stop me going again

the lift need looking at we both have mobility issues i had to go down the stairs to ask the staff to let my wife out of the lift every time we used it this is not good when you are disabled

Our room had a bulb out above the vanity unit, not the end of the world as it was In front of a window. The blind was broken in the window so it came down ok but took a lot of fiddling to get it rolled back up. The chair of the vanity unit broke when I sat on it, and I fell to the floor, you could see the plastic clips underneath to hold it together were broken and missing, meaning it had been broken before and pushed back together. Breakfast was a basic option, if you wanted a cooked breakfast it was charged extra. It would be better to just include this and increase the room rate by £5, people think they are getting more for their money then. The room doesn’t have air con meaning you have to sleep with the window open which then lets in all the light, however there are fans provided.

The room itself was lovely, great location, lovely big bathroom and shower and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice and there were plenty of options of pastries and drinks.

The Boathouse is a brilliant hotel with well-equipped, comfortable and spacious rooms. If you're needing a room in this area, I would highly recommend it.

Service at breakfast very poor on Sunday, tea & coffee requested, after 10 minutes I went to the bar & asked for the drinks again. We had ordered a full English & a bacon sandwich. The full English came with a fried egg sandwich, when I said "I didn't order this", I was told "It's your bacon sandwich", so I lifted the bread to show the fried eggs. He then agreed it was wrong & my correct sandwich came some time later. Our breakfast cost was cancelled.

Lift did not work properly. Seemed very unsafe , Not at all up to date or even up to health and safety standards , not advisable to book this hotel if have problems getting up and down stairs . No hot water for 2 days in a row.

Surprised to have to pay extra for cooked breakfast as this was sold as included. Limited choice and quantity of the 'free' continental breakfast. A little slow to deliver breakfast order on checkout day causing us to rush. Fridge in room is a good idea, however it was really noisy.

Evening meal was very good and reasonably priced. Our room (7) was excellent , even had a balcony with a sea view. Cleaned and replenished daily. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Reserved parking space is a bonus.

Difficult to request breakfast in the room, as owners suggested this to be something they weren't used to, asked if we couldn't physically make it down for breakfast!

Room was huge with a great view. Breakfast was lovely.
