As we walked the West Highland Way we found the checkin late for us as we were tired when we arrived and just wanted to lie down. But this was true for all WHW stops.

The guest house is right on the West Highland Way. We did not have the breakfast offered because we wanted to leave early for our West Highland Way but the guest house offered us a breakfast roll . They had vegan choices for the milk for our tea which was appreciated. They offered a range of DVDs to watch on the TV and a lovely piece of cake on our arrival by our host.Quiet and relaxed stay. Comfortable beds.

    Nothing. Was perfect.

Well what can I say….. Second time here and just as amazing as last time. We arrived early on Friday and they allowed us to check in hours before we should of. The weather had been bad the last few days so wanted to set of early and they were more then accommodating. We stayed here last year for both our birthdays and booked the little pod in the garden but thought we would try the cottage this year. Chris was great at communicating and informing us with everything we needed, this time it was our anniversary and they even put a lovely bottle of Prosecco in a room to celebrate. We stayed in the kings size room at the front of the main cottage and it was beautiful. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Even down to the cotton linen and the duck feather pillows were 5star. The room was very spacious and had everything you needed. The bathroom is a little dated and small, but God doesn’t it pack a punch. The showers was so strong and powerful it was great. Tv was a smart tv and could get all the mod channels plus nextflix. Tea and coffee plus hot chocolate was suppled that were replenished every day with packs of biscuits. Yum! Outside the room in the hallway, there is a mini bar with lots of drinks and sometimes snacks with an honesty box on top. This is a great idea and should be in every hotel and B&B. In the morning, I contacted Chris as I needed an ironing board which they brought round quickly and promptly. As it is old cottage, the stairs up to the rooms are quite narrow, steep, and unfortunately I did fall down and hurt my arm but that was my fault as I was rushing. There were other people saying in the rooms next to us with no problems. It was very quiet and we slept extremely well considering you’re on the main road in drymen the windows kept all the traffic noise out. We love Drymen as it’s the cutest little village and prob be back next year. Thank you so much for making our stay outstanding.

We only stayed the one night on our way to Skye, we really liked it here and the garden room was perfect for us. Breakfast was at the nearby Drymen Inn, where we also ate the night before, and can definitely recommend that too.

The kitchenette in the pod was not well equipped if one wanted to make or eat a meal (it didn't even have silverware or plates for two...no forks, one knife, etc.)

We were walking the West Highland Way and this was a perfect location within easy walking distance of places to eat dinner. We stayed in the pod, which was modern, clean and quiet.

Check in is not available until 4pm. We were walking the WHW and got in about 2pm, so an earlier check in would be nice.

My partner and I were walking the West Highland Way for our honeymoon and the staff at Braeside upgraded our room to a lovely private suite with its own bathroom. It was gorgeous and they even left us a bottle of Buck’s Fizz! Would highly recommend and would love to go back.
