Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe were unable to come the first night because my daughter caught a virus and was unable to travel. We lost the money for that night due to booking with booking.com which was a bit of a bummer. The manager said let him know next time we stay and he would give us a free night but with nothing in writing I highly doubt that this was anything more than lip service. Also no idea when we will be back in London. I don't fault him for that, he was trying to brighten a costumer's kind of disappointing day (we were also out the cost of non refundable theater tickets 😥). There is no penalty for being kind and he was very much so.
Location and staff and room were all great.

United StatesThe most inconvenient problem is the fact that there is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow. I was on the 3rd floor and one of the receptionists gave me the wrong key one evening. She insisted that I had given her the wrong room number. No apologies at all. The single room is tiny, with almost no place to put a suitcase. No breakfast.
The best thing about the property is the location in Covent Garden. The two receptionists that helped me with the luggage were polite.

Our second visit to this hotel and we weren't disappointed. Whilst it is quite expensive, it's worth paying because it's so quiet at night! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom big and well equipped, and the staff are fantastic. Just a couple of minutes walk to get breakfast (we found a place on Drury Lane). Will definitely be back later in the year - can't afford more than a couple of nights but a no-brainer !!

SwedenWell, its a fairly small suite for a family of four. For a prolonged weekend ok. A bit worn down, a few hours of paintwork would do good.
Superb location, 50 m to the Royal Opera, 100m to Covent Garden underground. Lots of bars, restaurants and pubs in the area. Quiet. AC worked fine. Nice room and friendly staff. Tee and coffee in the room.

United KingdomFan in bathroom noisy and one of the lights in the bathroom flickered constantly. Curtains didn't block out the light outside fully - blackout blinds would be more useful.

United KingdomThe twin room we had (Room 16) was quite small and to get to the bathroom/toilet you had to walk down 8-10 steps which during the night wasn’t particularly good. The overhead lights behind the bed didn’t work either. The bedroom window needed a blind or net as we had to close the curtains when getting changed and it made the bedroom very dark when we wanted natural light. It would have been nice if the male receptionist was alittle happier with us when we checked in.
The location was brilliant. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was very accommodating to store our luggage

United KingdomCarpets, paintwork and furniture were all a little tired, and there was a dripping tap in the bathroom and noisy bathroom fan. No breakfast provided in the hotel, but several options available within easy walking distance (this reduces to a couple of coffee shops if you need to eat before 8.30am).
Great location extremely close to Covent Garden, which for the price provided excellent value for money. Clean and comfortable bed, decent towels. Very polite night porter on the desk, who remembered me when I returned in the evening and checked out in the morning.
