Rooms at the back are affected by noise from heating/ kitchen appliances til late at night and early in the morning. Sleeping is only possible with windows shut and even then is uncomfortably noisy. For this the room does not really provide restful sleeping and expensive at that. Shame as lovely room otherwise.

Very attentive staff. rooms and hotel nicely updated since last visit (as are the prices), excellent breakfast, cosy bar.

The room was small, one of the smallest double rooms I've ever stayed in, with a view of the car park and bins and noisy fans immediately outside the window. As such, at £251/night, it was very poor value for money.

The room we had (No17) was on a level with the car park and required curtains or blinds to be shut for privacy. We suggested they frost half of the glass which would give privacy and allow natural light in to the room.

Location was great with two restaurants, one formal one informal. Staff were very helpful and friendly

No elevator. I had to climb 2 flights of stairs to my room.

A wonderful view of the Castle; Lovely, helpful staff, very good restaurants on site. Clean room with coffee, biscuits and tablet available.

The only thing I missed was a lift to the 2nd floor. But to be fair, it is a very nice old hotel which is much more of interest then a lift ;-)

its an very nice old hotel in Stornoway. Currently there is renovation ongoing, but even that did not impact us much.

Tub was a bit high and slippery. Has to ask for a rubber mat but got one immediately. Hair dryer is fixed to the wall at the desk but did not reach the mirror so pretty useless. Note- if you have a room in the back on the first floor you will be eye level with the parking lot. Not an issue for us but you’ll want to keep the blinds closed

Included hot breakfast was excellent and very fast. Dinner in both restaurants was good but a bit pricy in the main dining room. Staff is top notch and so friendly. Very well located to the harbor and shops with a view of Lews Castle. Small parking lot was handy as it was the same level as our room so no dragging luggage upstairs or fighting for street parking

Excellent facilities - a comfortable bed, large bathroom with bathtub and shower. Quiet room with a view of the courtyard. Excellent cafe for casual dining. We requested to have our cocktails in the room, which the staff were happy to prepare for us. Great food, drink, very welcoming staff, perfect location.

A last minute stay due to cancelled ferry, but the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind (they even created a section of the restaurant for the dog to sit with us & we hear this might become a permanent policy, which is great news for those staying in the hotel with four-legged friends). We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms, and although compact, it was spotless and done to a really nice standard. Will definitely be back again on our next visit!

There is nothing about the hotel we did not like and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The room was very nice and we had a fab harbour view. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was great and the service at all meal times was very good - even though we had a bit of an error with one of our evening meals, this was rectified very quickly and by no means spoilt our opinion of the hotel.

I had a recently remodeled room and it was lovely. We had some challenges with cancelled flights onto the island due to weather, and Jillian was wonderful and really helped us. Thanks for a really nice stay.

Good place to stay coming from Ullapool with Ferry before beginning a Journey in Hebridean Islands and to discover Callanish Stones Circles as well as Harris surroundings.

Bedroom I was in I wasn’t that impressed, but on saying that the staff have plans to upgrade in the near future, and I will definitely return next year. No need for the restaurants as they were perfect.

The mis information given re breakfast.

On checking in, in the evening, the receptionist informed me that cooked breakfast was only available 0930-1030…. Otherwise a continental breakfast would have to do. After getting up and consuming continental breakfast, i was informed the cooked breakfast actually started at 7.30am… disappointing start to my day…otherwise.. a single room.. bit dated but very clean and very comfy.
