Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot sure why everyone crowds the bar when their are perfectly reasonable and comfortable spaces throughout, wish they left bar area open to allow for easier pint ordering and pickup. Maybe use the back garden to deliver drinks.
Staff at breakfast are amazing! Fantastic food.

United KingdomShower-water pressure very low, barely a trickle. As we were only there a couple of days, we put up with it, we would look to re visit but would need to know this is not a factor throughout the hotel, especially if we were staying longer. Didn’t say anything as only 2 days but a consideration if staying longer.
Staff excellent, food exceptional! Great location for parents home and to look around the area.

United KingdomThe bed could be a bit more sturdy :) The supporting middle leg doesn't sit properly on the riven tiles and so it swings a bit. The shower was a bit too hot and I couldn't really work out how to turn it down.
This place is so quintessential English. Its just lovely. We had a dog with us and were really please to be shown into a ground floor room with french windows to a private enclosed garden for the dog. But more than that, the place was like an airbnb in so far it had its own kitchenette with fridge and microwave and little seated area for eating only someone else did the cleaning. There was also a spare bed. We were just a couple and a dog, but the room is very spacious and ample for a small family to stay comfortably. I honestly could live there. The staff were so lovely and friendly. I really liked how they employed a range of different people from the village, you could tell it was a real hub for the community. Its not posh or plush, its definitely a pub, but its just perfectly so. The breakfast was delicious and amazing value considering 2 x Egg on toast and coffee came to £30 in Castle Acre, so 2 full English and 2 coffee in with the price was amazing. The restaurant food was good and homecooked too. The village is lovely, there is a convenient co-op/ butchers/ deli down the road with everything you need, but the really great thing is, Thetford Forest and the Arboretum are just behind the property, literally a 5-10 min walk. On the photos I thought we were driving to the woods, but no, we just walked there really easily. We really really loved this stay. It was like a big cuddle

Full English was a full English a generous serving - supplemented with Tea Coffee , Cereal . Yogurts Fresh fruit juice and Toast. Would I stay there again, Not half. Most definitely. Evening meals are available in either the Restaurant or Bar - There is seating outside for when the weather is fair. Hot meals were served HOT that's not like most places I go, So Yes a must stay location.

United KingdomA lovely old property in a picturesque village, with two very friendly staffed bars. The food was delicious on both days of our visit. The sleeping accommodation was very comfortable and clean. It was our second visit to the hotel to meet up with family who live in the area, so will definitely be back again.

United KingdomNothing really. The Crown is always comfortable and welcoming. I appreciate that they are having staffing difficulties at the moment - there were notices apologising that they wouldn't be able to make up all the rooms each day due to short staffing/recruitment issues - but this didn't cause us any problems. It is an industry-wide problem in hospitality at the moment.
We've stayed at the Crown several times and the quality of our stay keeps bringing us back. This was the first time we were in this room and it was really nice to have a bath as well as a shower. The inn is over 300 years old but manages to combine just enough 'olde worlde' charm to be memorable with all the modern facilities you would expect to be really comfortable. As usual, the breakfast was excellent. I also recommend booking for dinner. We will be back next year.
