Noisy in the morning due to rush hour

However, the room I stayed in, Goose, the walls were paper thin and I could hear very clearly the other occupants next door. The sandwich I purchased, which cost £10.50 was not presented very well at all, the description on the menu sounded lovely, but it was a doorstep of a sandwich I couldn't bite into it, the shredded beef was incredibly stringy, the cheese was actually lumps which looked as though it had been broken off a block, there was no mustard, no dressing of perhaps a few salad leaves and no crisps. In other words it looked as though it had been thrown together and in a hurry. In contrast, the cooked breakfast the following morning was lovely.

The accommodation was clean and everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided.

The bathroom needs up dating, the toilet was hard to flush. It was dirty in places and the light fitting looked like it was going to fall down.

The Location as we were attending a wedding. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

While the room was nice and large, it was not advised as being limited in height. I am tall, so could not stand up to my full height anywhere other than the bathroom. But even if was small but over 6 foot it would feel a little low. No way I could use the shower either as that was small & low

Great location for the forest & all that has to offer. Beer garden of the pub / hotel was beautiful, very pleasant to sit chill and enjoy the very well kept gardens. Room was fine other than the ceiling height.

The free WiFi wasn't good. First, you have to log in with your private details and after that you can't download any info even if wifi sign is on. We ended using our mobile data. The room we stayed in was rather small and very dark. It was not clear how small and dark from the photos. Would be suitable 1-2 night stay, but uncomfortable for longer trip.

Excellent location with lovely forest walks directly from the door. The room was clean, warm and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent combination cooked and cold meals. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also looked very well after my dietary requirement.

We couldn’t get the tv to work but it didn’t spoil our time away. We decided that we didn’t need it so didn’t bother letting the staff know about it until we left. They said we should have let them know and they would have sorted it out for us but we were happy without it.

The Huntsman was in a central location for our weekend. The room was comfy and clean. They have a selection of snacks on an honesty tray with complementary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water. The rain head shower was amazing! The breakfast was superb with a selection of continental or cooked breakfast. The staff we met were very helpful.

Good coffee machine but why do hotels only give you two teabags and coffee sachets. Seems a bit on the mean side when you are spending so much. Spoilt by a few minor things in room ie cheap toilet paper, room too dark, there was a light out in bathroom so couldn’t shave or put on make up. We weren’t in the actual hotel but out building. Would have loved a bath but I probably should have checked on that. Shower was good and large.

It would have been good to have a proper vegan breakfast option, rather than a very slimmed down veggie breakfast for the same amount of money.

Walk in shower controls very difficult for elderly people to handle …. No shower grab rails or seat …. Very slippery shower tray

Convenient parking …. Nice relaxed atmosphere….good sized room ….all rooms close to large dining areas. Most helpful and caring staff. Very good menus promptly served with one or two unacceptable delays

The bathroom could do with a bit of maintenance

Appreciated the help as we were arriving very late because of train delays although it took a few calls to sort out. There was only locked doors when we left too but we hadn't booked breakfast. We have stayed in the same room before - its comfortable and clean.

Our room was on the main road. The windows were single glazed and there was noise from traffic and also the room itself was cold. We were provided with a heater which helped. The decor is very dark and the rooms weren’t that big. The first full day we stayed there we went out and returned at 4 pm to find that our room had not been serviced. It was serviced quickly after our request for it to be done but I felt it could’ve been done in the six hours we had been out . The hotel only has 13 rooms so I would expect it to have been done earlier.

The breakfasts were good. And the staff were pleasant. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was very good as was the service.

Floor was tiled so very cold if you have to use the bathroom during the night. Tip: Take slippers! Coffee machine provided, but coffee was not hot after adding cold milk. Also you dont get a full cup only half. Instant coffee would have been better. But tea and hot chocolate also provided in rooms.

Location was good. Bed was comfortable. Stayed during cold weather, but still warm in room and cosy to sleep.

Could have done with a light by the wardrobe as it was quite dark. It was a shock the breakfast price had gone up from when I originally booked almost double. although the choice was nice don't think it was worth the price especially when there was no milk with our drinks you had to go and get it from the main table which would be difficult if you had a job to walk!

It was walking distance to where we were going, there was car parking, the room was nice.
