My only two complaints were that the heating was controlled wirelessly by the owner and I had to message twice and sit in a cold flat for an hour with 2 small children till she switched it on. But she’s lied and made up excuses that the last people had turned it off. Why lie??? Not a good way to start if they can’t even be trusted. It should be switched on the whole time of the stay. Also no soap, shower gel, shampoo. Lucky I had some with me but that is something even a budget hotel caters for

A couple of constructive criticisms: since access to the apartment is from 16:00, everyone who arrives between now and March will arrive in the dark. All the houses on the road are set back from the road and up a few steps. From the street it's very difficult to see the house numbers after dark. I'm surely not the only person to enter other people's front gardens to check the house numbers, maybe fit either an illuminated house no.or a number plaque on the wall by the kerb. Secondly, whilst the heating to the apartment is controlled by thermostatic rad valves, the boiler won't fire if the Hive thermostat in the hall is satisfied, as was the case on our arrival. The apartment has a lovely high bay window, but with around 9 sq metres of single glazed glass, and with the rads having been off all day, it took a fair while to get the lounge warm. I appreciate that heating is really expensive, but a couple of tweaks would help to alleviate this issue. Having said all of that, they are only minor issues (the host turned up the hive immediately), and I wouldn't hesitate to rebook or to recommend it to others fantastic place!

The apartment was very clean. It was well decorated (high ceilings, lovely ornate coving, and some nice William Morris prints), and the furniture was excellent quality. The bed was very comfortable, and good blackout blinds ensured a good night's sleep. Access was by code and was very straightforward. The host was very efficient and responded to my message within a minute.

We absolutely loved our stay. The place was so lovely, beautiful decorated everything you needed was there even was able to make a brew on arrival as milk teabags milk was provided before we did a food shop.we stay in suite 1 which has bunkbed for your children which i would happily take my child with me next time as you can control your own heating lovely carpets downs and such and comfort bed. smart tv in the living room. any messages i sent were answered in good time.

the wi-fi was very slow meaning the netflix ect kept freezing HOWEVER this isn’t something the host is at fault for that’s modern tech for you

It 100% needs a grab rail for climbing in and out of the bath, there is nothing to hold onto and it felt a bit slippy and precarious when getting in to use the shower. A personal choice there needs to be a mirror near a socket for drying hair, just because the flex on the hairdryer wasn’t long enough for me to use the mirror provided. It was white cotton duvet cover and pillowcases but not on the fitted sheet which I prefer but that again is just a personal choice.

We have stayed in Scarborough over 30 years and I class this apartment as excellent value for money. It was very spacious, spotlessly clean and even though we only stayed two nights it seemed to have everything you would need for cooking. It also had a lovely table and chairs in the window. It was very quiet and comfortable. The shower was excellent and the towels were really fresh and clean. We were left plenty of parking permits and scratch cards. We had an apartment on the ground floor which was great and it was very nicely decorated.

Totally unexpected trip due to a family member being taken to Scarborough hospital. Family were staying just up the road in a cottage so we booked this to be close by. We were in suite one, myself, my wife and daughter. We were absolutely amazed at how nice this place was! Big, high ceilings. Decorated amazing. Living room with a huge tv, kitchen with everything you could possibly need, bedroom was grand, with the en-suite off that that was incredible. All impeccably clean. Due to the circumstances, we weren’t fully able to appreciate what it had to offer. But we’ve said we’ll absolutely be going back for a leisurely break. Bear in mind this place was cheaper than the more well known, big name hotels! We’d like to thank the host, it was that good. Thank you!

Loved everything

Loved everything about this place cosy homely, so so clean and easy to find and great location. The staff are absolutely lovely and nothing was too much. Frank picked us up in his taxi whenever needed. Any also helped us get back in when we had forgotten the code to the door. I would 100% stay here again. So worth the price and defo a home from home. Thanks you for the brilliant stay
