Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe hotel is good, the room has a nice size, the bed is comfortable and the bath is clean. Air condition is working perfectly as well. The check-in is easy with very friendly and helpful personal. It is close to the center, only some minutes (walking) away from a metro station. Super markets and good restaurants are also nearby.

GermanyThe room was small and occupied about 80% by the double bed. The bathroom was also small and rather dilapidated. But the water was hot and the bathroom was functional.
Friendly staff, simple procedures. The balcony was tiny and overlooked a busy main road. There was no breakfast available, but good cafes close by.

PortugalThe communal bathroom was quite dirty and when I first arrived the room smell of cigarettes
The room was very nice, however you have to think that you pay for what you get! The location was perfect, you can get from the airport there by metro and it was fairly easy and very convenient for travelling across the city.

South AfricaEverything. The shower was blocked and although they moved me to a another room, it was still blocked. Staff had to come into my room While I was out to fix the blocked shower. There was no door on the shower which meant that water ran on the floor for the poor cleaner to clean after. very noisy as it is on the main road and I could not sleep. Very dirty and smelly. I had to keep the balcony doors open but this meant that I could not sleep as there was too much noise from outside. The towel in the room was disgusting. They replaced them for me which was good. No aircon. The accommodation was the worst part of my stay. If I had money I would’ve payed for another place. Disgusting to think that I slept there for a few days! Yuck. I unfortunately lost my phone and cannot attach any photos. I have switched to using hotels.com because I am shocked why booking.com would have this hotel in their site. It’s truly disgusting. I have been travelling around Schengen countries since 20 October and this hotel is the worst of them all. I wish I had read the reviews before booking!

PolandCosy place with soul! All workers are so helpful and nice. Really near to the hotel, on the same busy main road, is metro station, so I think it's safe for travellers, also at night. Near to the hotel is a lot of small places perfect for morning coffee or breakfast. We was also lucky to have opportunity to visit grocery market square on the nearest road. I recommend this place for people, who are looking for unique places! Room was clean and has basic utilities, after season we don't have chance to taste breakfast but maybe we will come back 🌼 thank you!

GermanyThe traffic noise allows to sleep only with ear plugs
I had booked three nights of accommodations although many criticisms commented quite negatively about this hotel. Bad-tempered staff and neglected cleanliness can be found in the comments, so I was a bit nervous before checking in. But the good price-performance ratio and the good location in the city ultimately convinced me to take the risk. Now in retrospect I can't confirm most of the reviews: of course there were disadvantages (see below), but all the employees were very friendly and helpful to me and the facility was clean. A simple accommodation sufficient for traveler standards.

MaltaThis hotel is falsely advertised. We traveled as a group of friends + infant with a total of 6 rooms booked and not one resembled those being shown on the website. We even doubt that the photos being shown are actually of the same hotel (except for the common area). The rooms on the website are very spacious and modern ... instead what we got were: • very small rooms and bathrooms, with badly draining showers and hardly a balcony in certain rooms (photos attached) • broken floor tiles which one can easily get injured especially us who had a toddler running round the room • ancient and wobbly furniture • TV is hardly a decently sized monitor (photo attached) • uneven / dipping flooring • noisy surroundings • peeling walls and very battered doors + door frames • lighting in some rooms did not all work (photo attached) • weirdly positioned socket outlets, some were over a wardrobe or coming out from a door-frame and no sockets near a bed (2 photos attached) • no elevator whatsoever with a winding staircase and we had a room on each one of the 4 floors which was very strainfull with large luggage • the beds were on wheels, I can understand that it could be to facilitate movement but could easily be forgotten unlocked
It being close to a decent coffee shop + metro

United KingdomThe hotel should be closed for business. It's totally disgusting. Filthy dirty everywhere. Bed bugs in and on the bed. Shared bathroom is dreadful. Not fit for humans. Location terrible. Very noisy. Unhelpful staff. This was by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. I had booked for 2 nights as I was in transfer. I arrived 2am and and checked out at 7am.
Nothing. Dreadful location. Filthy room and shared bathroom. Bed bugs in the bed and crawling on top of the bed.

RomaniaAround midnight I turned on the light and realised there were little bugs under the pillow and on the bed. I had to clean that myself but obviously did non fell asleep too easy afterwards. On top of that, the area is highly dubious at night and dawn with all sort of shadowy figures around the block.
I thought it was a cheap place to spend the night before a morning flight.

NetherlandsWe found bed bugs in our room. We were moved to another room on another floor, which also had them. Then in our 3rd room we couldn't find anything, and it was already 4 am by that time so we didn't really have anywere else to go anymore. When we found them in our bags, we realised there was no use in switching to another hotel the next day, because we would just bring them with us and make it their problem as well. After some discussion we could stay another night for free (though of course no refunds ... yeah, and nothing else offered as compensation either) to be able to think through how we would avoid taking them home and to book flights because we had to change our whole plan, etc., but it honestly really ruined our vacation... We slept really badly knowing there were literal parasites waiting to drink from us when we'd fall asleep. We were also constantly worrying about them coming home with us, so we had a lot of conversations about that instead of relaxing. We left with literally 39 bites on 1 of us and some are developing on the other as well, and more will come in 2 days since it can take 3 days for the bites to become visible. We were really excited for a month of vacation but booking this hotel really ruined the whole thing. Both the vacation we did have and the part we'll not have because we have to go home early (27 days early) to treat our bagage and not pass it onto other hotels/people. That doesn't even involve the costs we'll have to make to kill them; dry cleaning and/or professionally treating it is really expensive. The staff was pretty chill about it too: 'oh yeah, the bed bugs. We can't really help it. The guests bring it here. Just hang your clotes outside for a while. You'll be fine.' At least that was the line when we managed to catch someone at the desk who spoke understandable English.
The sweet company of some cute little bed bugs.

You can find easily when you came from the airport. There are shops and lots of restaurants near by the hotel. Everything is within walking distance. I had air condition at my room and it worked perfectly.
