Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe music goes until 22.30.. so if you sleep early use some earplugs
Nice to have a swimmingpool not cool down! During the day it is fine to have a music with it. The smoothies are really nice and the extreme bar next to the pool have nice drinks (that are cheaper then the restaurant, with a set menu and prices). Small drive to Semuc Champey and Lanquin grotto

Poland- Not fault of the hotel itself but have to mention it- roosters! If you have troubles falling asleep and are disturbed by “village” noises at night maybe consider another place, even though the place is quiet itself the roosters didn’t let me sleep for my whole 2 nights stay (they start crowing around midnight and finish around 6 am)
- place looks better than in the pictures - rooms are spacious and clean as well as the bathroom - good breakfast in the restaurant (paid) - good location close to the centre and colectivo stop

NetherlandsWe stayed here for 2 nights, solely for visiting Semuc Champey, and for that it was a perfect location (taxi’s coming by very frequently and they offer tours from the hotel). We also ate at the hotel, really great food. The rooms and property however are very outdated. The showers were dirty and there was a stank coming out of the drain. Beds uncomfortable, windows dirty. We also didnt go in the pool cause it was very dirty.

BrazilWater was a problem… at least in the bathroom that I shared with another room. The water ran out in the middle of my shower the two days I was there… one day it came after a couple minutes, the other day it took a while and barely came back… ans sometimes there was no water to wash my hands or flush, so I had to walk to the pool toilets.
The room is really good for the price, with AC. Location is good, they have a tour desk and friendly staff.

CanadaThe bathroom is in need of a deep clean or new grout or new tiles. It is pretty worn out and unlike the rest of the room. A towel rack and shelf in the shower would help too. The roosters in the morning, but I think you would hear them from every location in town.
Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked well and was appreciated in the hot, humid town. Shower had hot water, but the bathroom was the worst part of the room. It could use some re-tiling in the shower and a towel rack etc. Food at the restaurant very good and well priced. The hotel itself could use an upgrade with new paint, tiles etc but compared to the rustic town it's luxurious. We let them know which bus we were on so they were waiting for us with a ride from the bus stop which was very nice. They offer tours but we just wanted a collectivo to the pools so they called one so we would be the first and could sit inside instead of on the back of the truck. One of the staff speaks Englih which was a big help.

SwitzerlandThere is a problem of water, I think it’s a problem in the city in general but for 2 days out of 3 I couldn’t get any water in the shower, even after I told them they tried to fix it.
The staff of the hotel and of the restaurant were very kind and helpful!

FranceFood and drinks in the restaurant are expensive, as is the shuttle to Flores. I preferred to book elsewhere.
Beautiful place with swimming pool. Double room with AC (much appreciated) and hot water. I highly recommend the tour at Semuc Champey + caves with candles with them (Q200). The guide was so fun and kind.It was a wonderful experience.

United KingdomOur shower was not satisfying and the morning cockerel nearby started very early. The pillows were also very lumpy. Our favourite veg burrito was not available on our second night which made us limited to pasta, as vegetarians. Small point but the bar and restaurant are on opposite sides of the pool, so if you want food and a drink at the same time you have to manage separately (including separately bills).
This hotel is nestled nicely within a small valley which gives nice views of the surrounding local community. The pool, bar and restaurant areas are colourful and interesting to look at. The proximity to the semuc champey pools works well, with a 20min truck ride each way - organised by the hotel for us. The vegetarian burrito and avocado breakfasts were particularly tasty!

FinlandWifi doesn't work in rooms
Very simple but nice accommodation, it's what you'd expect. The restaurant makes a pretty good breakfast with coffee included, especially the french toast is delicious! The hotel has a travel agency attached to book forward travel, and getting to Semuc Champay is very easy since the shared car goes right by the hotel.

Costa RicaCurtains do no block light properly, so you wake up very early in the morning, bring a mask with you. Rooms near reception get a lot of noise from the streets.

GermanyThere were too many electricity outlets and not much furniture where you could put your stuff, even though the room was very big.
We had a really big room which could have hosted up to 8 people (we were 4) and there was still a lot of extra space. Location is good on the street leading to Semuc Champey. They offer tours but they take the whole day and we needed to leave in the early afternoon. Pool looked nice, restaurant was good. Parking was easy.

GuatemalaThe rooms are rather basic and we're not sure if bedsheets are changed between guests. Can also be noisy with other guests.
The on-site bar and restaurant are amazing. Fantastic staff, very family friendly and really, really delicious local food. Location is also great in relation to what to do and see around the area, the town is well within walking distance and the road to Semuc Champey right in front of the doorstep (self-driving will need 4x4).

Simple, but clean hotel. Remember that you are in a remote village. Some people mentioned a damp smell, but that wasn’t the case in my room. Good food in the restaurant and lovely restaurant staff. Also views are nice

GuatemalaThe front desk personnel are not kind and do not provide enough information about your stay and the tours they offer on site. Pillows are disastrous and the food, although well prepared, is pretty flavorless. The rooms also lack furniture. Only one nightstand and that's it. You need to figure out where to put your staff and hang your clothes.
Convenient location on the way out of Lanquín to Semuc Champey. It's one of the few if not the only hotel with A/C. The pool is well maintained and the restaurante is also the best possible quality you can get in this place.

IsraelThe wifi didn’t get to our rooms, the distance from Lanquin to Semuc Champey is far and the road is not so friendly. Not related to the hotel, but there is construction on the way to & from Semuc Champey and we got stuck for an hour in the middle of the road (scorching sub) with nothing but locals that speak a different language and act kind of creepy. I guess you should ask the hotel/ shuttle for construction hours because it ruined our really wonderful experience.
Nice staff, great music and fun pool. We really enjoyed the stay in the hotel itself, the restaurant was good as well.

United KingdomThe pool could be a bit cleaner, wasn't as appealing to swim in due to it being a bit dirty.
The place was nice, just like the photo. Our room was spacious and comfy. The toilets were shared but still clean and even with an air freshener, a nice touch! The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful.
