Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is exactly as shown in the pictures. Lovely newly refurbished Georgian house. Staff were very welcoming. Lovely area, close to city centre, 39A bus onto town. I would highly recommend it & would definitely stay again. There were no parking spaces when we arrived but were allowed to park at the house next door. The bathroom was massive & very modern. Lovely big shower

United KingdomWe were on the ground floor of an old house, so there was some noise transfer. The occupant in the room above us decided to open windows and move about in the middle of the night
Beautiful room, very comfortable bed , all very clean. Ballsridge is a quieter more suburban side of the city

AustraliaWould have appreciated information about local buses from city station. I had sent message to property prior to arrival date to ask about transport but was o my told about taxi/ Uber. Prior to leaving I did put there was bus stop near building with buses directly to station.
Didn’t have breakfast. main tourist streets were an easy walk from building. Room was so quiet and comfortable. We were upgraded on arrival which was a pleasant surprise. I would have been happy with a smaller room but this was beautiful.

IrelandAll was perfect for us, but I’d imagine rooms could get quite hot during warm weather.
Onsite parking was fantastic to get and being free was a wonderful bonus. Fridge in the room with complimentary water. Coffee maker in room and another one in the reception room with a greater choice - all free. Lovely large shower in ensuite. Very comfortable bed. Easy check in and out with lovely staff.

RomaniaIt was very cozy and clean and it has that old aristocratic style. We appreciated how they took care about small details that make you feel good. The location is great, there is a bus station near the property and it was close to the center and you have all you need in the area.

Czech Republicfridge doesn't refrigerate, for changing the towels I prefer ecologicaly way - it's mean when I need to change it - I throw it on the floor, when I don't need it to change i hang it somewhere and I can use it again.

SingaporeA small flight of stairs to main entrance so those who are lugging their luggage, do take note! Not a huge problem.
Gorgeous suite! I booked the suite as it was my birthday and it didn’t disappoint. Spacious room and toilet, everything was clean and rustic vibes. It felt like we’re staying in a castle. Free parking at premise was useful for those who drive albeit limited slots. Walkable distance to Tesco and other marts as well as restaurants. Not in the most central location but worked well for us nevertheless. TV with Netflix was a bonus. A nice common room with complimentary coffee and tea as well.

United KingdomThe property was in a quiet location which was perfect as it was close to the city but not right in the heart, it was a quick 20 minute walk to The Aviva which was excellent as I was attending a football match. The property was affordable and very luxurious particularly for the price. Plenty of towels in the room and a lovely hot shower. The beds were super comfortable and plenty of power outlets in the room too. The coffee and tea facilities were a big hit for us too. The staff were lovely and helpful, we requested an earlier check in due to an early flight and this was done which was really helpful and made for a better trip. The welcome book in the room also had plenty of information and useful tips and tricks in it which was really helpful. We will definitely be staying again on a future trip.
