Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesUnfortunately, the check-in process was a little bit complicated for us. Nobody was there when we arrived. We had to call a few times to reach somebody who said they had to leave for an emergency, but the key was in the door, and to just check ourselves in. We did not have any interaction with the staff during our stay.
Quiet location, close to the Dead Sea. The room was comfortable, clean and worked well for our one night stay. Although there aren't many restaurants or amenities within Neve Zohar, it is only a short drive away from more significant towns with a lot more options.

PortugalThere wasn’t any supermarket or restaurant in the village but we knew this before booking.
The room was clean and comfortable. It looked exactly as in the photos. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, even offered taking us to the nearby town for dinner and shopping.

United Statesclose to local bus, but a long walk from the express bus stop. Community has no local restaurants or stores. We wished we had a car.

KazakhstanNice accomodation, clean and equipped for cooking. Guest was kind (gave us also a lift to bus stop). The location is not the best for travellers without car like us as all the shops are quite far. Also for the beaches (equipped with the necessary showers) are at about one km. The bus stop anyway is 250 meters far away from the accomodation and from there you can reach each place.

Excellent location, very quiet, everything really neat and comfortable. The owner/manager Sam is extremely helpful and friendly and made all the difference to our stay with his excellent advice, suggestions and helpful attitudes. He offered to pay a parking ticket we got, which otherwise would have become at least twice as expensive. And he introduced me to his wife who gave some expert advice of Dead Sea possibilities in dealing with arthritis.

IsraelPrice was expensive, but so are prices in all Israel, especially the Dead Sea. Nearest beach you could swim was a 10/15 min walk away. Neve Zohar doesn't have many facilities...no supermarkets or restaurants.
Location was excellent not far from the sea, there are bus links to Masada, Jerusalem and Beer Sheva, buses go every couple of hours but the bus stop is near the guesthouse. Room had kettle, TV and microwave. Host was nice, left the key in the room so we could check in early.

IsraelMost comfort items were offered and accessible, perhaps adding a few extra pillows would be nice too!
Location is very convenient and accessible to the Dead Sea area, particularly for those who prefer a home-like environment instead of the large hotels. It is much less crowded and peaceful, and you can walk to the edge of the Dead Sea, and in a few minutes drive swim in an organized beach with lifeguards.

United KingdomThe room was tiny, with a strange 'rustic' wall that was full of cracks. A couple of spider webs on the walls. There was hardly any space for our luggage (we travelled with only hand luggage). The host didn't even introduce himself upon arrival so it really did not feel like a "guest room". No water was provided upon arrival (everywhere else we stayed in Israel, provided at least a bottle of water upon arrival). Would have been better to pay more and stay where the resort are.
Close to the dead sea within walking distance to the closest maintained beach - 10 mins walk along the dead sea. You can't really use the beach right next to the home, as there are no facilities and it is not maintained. 10 mins drive to the nicer beaches of Ein Bokek, where there are restaurants. Beach towels provided.

IsraelBreakfast is not provided. We brought food with us, and it was the right decision: in mini market, which is 4 km away, the choice of food is very small.
The conditions are very comfortable. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail: fully equipped kitchen, comfortable shower room, silent air conditioning. The owner is very friendly and accommodating to our requests.

GermanyIt was very disappointing that we had to book 3 rooms for 5 people ...parents and 3 adult kids. When we arrived we figured out that one room had 4 beds, so it would have been easy to have all 3 kids in one room, wich would have saved uns 140$. So we would go to one for the hotels in future, if we could not get 3 rooms.
The great terrasse garden where one could have breakfast etc. Also hte free coffee and filtered water in the kitchen was super.
