How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The customer service needs to be better; in terms of housekeeping & in-room dining. They need to know which room to allot as per customer ask; and how to lay the food as well.

It’s a bit dated the building will do good with some renovations or spurs up . Will be nice if they offer free city shuttle or shuttle services on a good price .
Ambiance , it’s quiet and far from hustle and bustle of the city , beautiful pool , exceptional staff very attentive and great at their job . They have a young and aspiring crew which I see as a plus .

The pool was very hot. Not refreshing. The restaurant service was very slow. There's a military airport just next to the hotel so you can hear helicopter and planes flying over all day. There was some renovation work done by the pool during the day that made some noise during our stay. It's a bit far from Fort Cochin.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff is very nice, the food options for breakfast is great. Options for lunch and dinner are more limited but the food is good. The pool is big. The bed is comfortable.

Overpriced. Especially the dinner buffet which charged 1750rs per person. Not value for money.

Shower was combined with the bath tab. Water was leaking onto the bathroom floor when taking shower. The hotel is located next to the military airbase, so often you hear planes flying low over the hotel. The area around the hotel is not feasible for walks.

The area wasn't great, but very quiet. Transport needed for every journey, but ubers/taxis/tuk tuks are very cheap.
The staff were brilliant, couldn't do enough for you, always polite and accommodating. The pool was terrific, food was good, and the room was comfortable. We were treated on our wedding anniversary to a free meal, and the chef made us not one but two cakes for the occasion.

Small niggle would be looking for fruit juice glasses and cold plates at breakfast and the final one would be the crazy high prices charged for any drinks in and around the hotel.
Great to stay at The Trident again in Kochi, so so relaxing and fantastic staff, the hotel is located on Willingdon Island and as many people mention you are in an industrial area which can be a little off putting for some guests. There is a taxi company which is manned 24 hours a day just 150 metres outside the main entrance of Trident (turn right and then first right) 1700 rupees to the airport in a very clean comfortable a/c car, reception know the number. Ferry Station to Fort Kochi or Ernakulam, 25 minutes walk or tuktuk.....Ferry fare is "6" rupees either way......extortionate!!!! Fantastic stay Trident and I shall see you next year as part of my 2 month India visit.

At check in all the paperwork I’d been asked to email wasn’t referred to so had to do it all again and early check in requested and agreed not known at hotel Disappointing hot non Indian breakfast - one dish unavailable replacement dish was lukewarm and not good. Pastries were a little stale too Tea not hot enough

It’s in the middle of a construction site street with nothing about. Only way to get to the port is a 45min walk in scorching heat along a construction road. There was also spontaneous construction in the hotel which blocked some corridors. Didn’t really bother me but it felt very “india”. Bathrooms poorly designed so don’t drain and you stand in 10cm of water during your shower. Shower doors open the wrong way. Like I said - very India ;)

Very inflexible property. I had late night flights, so was made to have reservations for both the nights of flight. Wasn't offered early check in ,or late check out for even one time. Have not had a hotel do that before. 2 extra nights of booking. Also, far from Fort Kochi side. No Water/ beach front access,so doesn't get any cooling sea breeze.
