Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe furniture is a bit dated and havey lokking. The apartment was really dark, with the only windows facing a nerrow alley
The location was excellent. Great breakfast and extremely kind staff. We arrived early (10 am), and our room was not ready, so we were offered an upgrade to an apartment that allowed us to check in immediately. And after flying all night, it was really appriciated.

United KingdomNothing.
Lovely hotel with an amazing view. Was very good to be greeted by such pleasant members of staff, not something you get everywhere in Venice. The staff were really helpful, chatty and friendly. They made the stay. The view, is of course stunning and a real stand out feature of this hotel. A great nights stay. Thank you.

IrelandThree flights of stairs at the entrance to reception area. No lift. Also I was under the impression by the wording that breakfast was included. This cost €15 a head extra.
Very nice. Very clean. A great view from the breakfast room. Staff very friendly. Spoke good English. Apartment was offered to us in the building next door. This was very spacious. Good bed. Very quiet area even though it's beside the Rialto.

EstoniaThe location of the hotel is super! View from the breakfast table is right to the Great Canal. Easy to go walking around the Venice, right next to the Rialto bridge. The room was really lovely, small and cosy. Has everything you need, even Netflix if you want to rest your legs. The view from our room was on to the narrow street, it was nice!

United StatesBreakfast was disappointing. Little selection, bread not fresh, cheap yogurt, etc. This wasn't a problem for me, but the hotel is 3 or 4 floors up (depending how you count) and there is no elevator. If you have mobility issues take this into account. The hotel was very clear about the situation and contacted me about this, which I appreciated.
Location - amazing! Right next to Rialto bridge, easy walk everywhere, near two vaporetto stops that bring you anywhere in town Room was very quiet, which was great Friendly staff Lobby staffed 24/7

United KingdomThe hair dryer. It was the type fixed to the wall & takes ages to dry hair. Not an issue for us & though warned about the stairs, they do go up three floors in one vertical sweep with no resting places. This could be an issue for some.

United StatesWe knew in advance that there is no elevator. If this is a concern for you plan accordingly.
Our room and the breakfast room directly overlooks the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Terrific breakfast every morning. Staff helped us plan our trip including a classical Vivaldi-Bach-Mendelssohn concert. Book with confidence that this is an ideal spot for your Venice trip and has its own history since 13th century.

IndiaJust the climb up & down the stairs with heavy luggage.
The Location is fabulous! Right on the Rialto bridge and amidst the restaurants. The hotel is probably a 20 mins boat ride from the Venice St Lucia station and bang on the canal. The rooms are tastefully done and the bathroom was very clean too. The staff is very pleasant and on the desk 24x7. To reach the hotel, you grab a water bus from the station (approx 10 euro ride per person) Get down on the stop after Rialto bridge, (I think it must be Sturion) and its a 3-5 min walk to the hotel. The only hitch is you have to carry the luggage up a long flight of stairs as there is no lift. Check in is smooth & quick. The area is buzzing till late and you have plenty of eating out options around. Would definitely come back here again!
