Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe walk to and from the bus stop could be challenging when we were very tired - no fault of the villas location, but to be aware that you need to climb steps for 15 mins to get between the square and villa. Because we weren't too pushed on doing lots of sightseeing, we were happy to spend more time relaxing in the villa and exploring the immediate area - however if you plan to sightsee, taking the local buses to make connecting ferries/buses could be challenging (we missed a kayak tour because our bus was late, though we were at the bus stop 30mins early - buses run once an hour), or are concerned about expensive taxi prices, or if you are not renting a car/scooter, this may not be the best base for you! We loved it, but it may not be for everyone!
The apartment was much bigger than I expected, which was a nice surprise! It was so peaceful and relaxing, with an incredible view. I'm sure many people visiting the Amalfi coast don't get a view quiet like it. We were looking for a place that was away from the crowds, and we got just that! For a small town, there are some absolutely fantastic restaurants nearby - try them all! The pistachio gelato from Caffeteria Mansi is delicious. The villa was very comfortable during one very stormy and rainy day. We were able to make food in the kitchen and chill out watching Netflix for the day! We are avid walkers, so this was a great base for us. We ended up getting buses to Ravello and Amalfi, and walking back to avoid the madness at the bus stops, haha! The pool was always a welcome treat when we got back after this. Giovanna was very helpful with any questions we had. I would recommend organizing the airport transfer as this will save any hassle (and money!) getting too and from the airport. There were 2 very sweet cats at the villa who greeted us every day too - as a cat lover this was a bonus! We also very much appreciated the small gift when we were leaving. :)

LuxembourgMicrowave could be useful otherwise Nothing to do with the property but: Lot of mosquitoes in august in the region ! Need a car to go around as it is quite isolated ( parking spot provided)
Most amazing view of the region (even better than in Ravello) Very quiet area, far from agitated coast and tourist while still being relatively close (but need car otherwise it is complicated) Small swimming pool with a 5 stars hotel view Very nice apartment (Anna), clean, confortable and well furnished Baby-foot and table tennis to entertain Very nice host, offered us coffee, lemoncello, drove us to Ravello for visiting and even offered a birthday gift ! They know local shops so they can even deliver food to the property

NetherlandsThe property has no negatives! It was superb to be able to park on site. For the area, one should know that parking in the different towns is limited, but it is manageable if you plan your visits well.
Arriving at Villa Laura was like entering a dream. After an hour drive from Napoli through the winding mountainroads to the cute historic town of Scala, we parked the car in the shaded area of the Villa, with magnificent view on Ravello and the Almalfi coast. We were kindly welcomed “home” to our wonderful and spacious apartment Anna by Giovanna. Seeing the view from our terrace and windows was simply jaw-dropping, every single day! The apt had everything we needed, the bedroom was comfortable and cool, the kitchen was well-equipped and we loved drinking our moka-made coffee and enjoying breakfast on the terrace. The swimming pool area with relaxing lounge chairs was marvelous. Visting the nearby towns and sights Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii, and enjoying the delicious meals altogether made for a wonderful mother-daughter vacation and memories. But MOST of all we loved and will remember the incredible hospitality of Aurelio, the most gracious and kind owner/host one could imagine! We felt like family in his Villa Laura, and recommend his unique place to everyone who loves to experience the best of the Italian life and people. Grazie mille per tutti!

United KingdomOther travellers should note that the villa is high on the hillside, hence the views, but this necessitates a walk of approx 10 minutes steeply down hill to the centre of Scala and more slowly back up if no car….there is a bus stop near the villa but buses are less frequent than in the town centre. This wasn’t a concern for us as we treated it as a way to keep fit, but it may be an issue for some.
Stunning views from this large apartment with two balcony areas and access to beautiful pool area which also has great views. The villa is gated and a parking space is provided. Well appointed kitchen and plenty of storage generally. Comfortable sprung sofa bed in the lounge. It is possible to have basic groceries delivered from local shop. Regular local bus service. Games room with table tennis, table football and darts. Very helpful host arranged taxi transfers…all arrangements went perfectly. Wi-Fi.

BulgariaHow can I evaluate humanity ? Endless thanks to Anna, Federica and Villa Laura. Amazing view, cleanliness, hospitality and most of all humanity. I think we came as guests, but left as friends. I hope to come back one day!
