Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe doors and walls are quite thin so you can hear everything. Was mostly fine but could be tricky for some people who sleep lightly. The bathroom is a little on the small side, some manoeuvring to get in and out of the shower. If you had any physical disability this property may not be suitable. Stairs on entry and in the room. But I can't stress enough these are minor things and only mentioning them for anyone who may want to know these details.
Great location and easily accessible from the train station. Staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. My room was big and the air conditioning is great. Restocked the fridge with fresh water every day with bottles of water which was a nice touch. Modern interiors and very clean!! I felt safe as a solo traveller, good security and warm friendly feel in the area and the building. Cafe Moka the local cafe is lovely too if you have breakfast included. 10/10 - would definitely come back

United KingdomVery hard to find and the checking in was awkward. On your site it is classified it as a bed and breakfast (B&B), this was just a B.
Modern and airy feel to the room, very comfortable bed.

ItalyCan be a tiny bit noisy during the night if you wanna sleep with a window open, but there is AC in the room, so that should not be a problem
The room was very clean and spacious, very well equipped. Bathroom is clean, we had a balcony with a street view - was a very nice bonus. Location is perfect - about 5-7 min on foot to reach the train station, less than 5 min to the coastal part.

I liked the location, it is in the center of the town, 10 min by foot from train station and 10 min by foot from the port to take a ferry. A good place to stay for some days, there are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby

Maltathe check in process was demanding after a long day of travelling. the electronic self check in took time and to get into the house I had to bother some other people. the place itself is a bit cold hearted and loveless for my taste. I slept bad the night since I found it noisy and just somehow uncosy.

HungaryWi-Fi access was a bit slow (10/20 Mbit/s) as Wi-Fi access was solved with a repeater device. I would recommend bringing UTP cable, Ethernet outlet and a Wi-Fi access point (AP) to each room for much better experience.
La Vie en Rose is the best place to stay in Salerno. Period. The apartment has a few rooms, and we booked one room called "Girasole". This room has a private balcony facing the side street, NOT the main Corso Vittorio Emmanuele, therefore it is much more quiet than the other ones. Our host is the kindest person in Salerno, she helped with absolutely everything that we could imagine (boat trips, beach selection etc.). She served us breakfast every morning in our room at the time we chose. She communicated with us through WhatsApp, and she was very responsive. She spoke very good english, there were no language related problems. The breakfast was classic italian breakfast (coffee, orange juice, croissant), however with some extra bread, butter and jam. Air-conditioner, bed, bathroom: 100% perfect. Parking: the best place to park nearby is located at Piazza dellá Libertá (10 min by bus from apartment, 20 min by foot). It is a large video-surveillance-equipped underground parking lot with very roomy parking spots. Important to notice, that it costs about 25 EUR/day however there is a weekly ticket for just 77 EUR! If you need a weekly ticket: after you parked your car, the first thing to do is go to the ticket vending machine and select "abonnenti 77EUR" and buy it there immediately, as it can not be bought afterwards... Public transport/location: as the apartment is in the centre of the main corso, lots of public transport options are very near: train station, bus stop etc. There are bus rides available to Pompei, Vesuvio, Napoli etc. as well. Tickets are sold at tobacco shops, ask for 90 minutes ticket if available (1,20 EUR).

FranceThis room was horrible and cost way too much for what we got: - the person at the reception desk answered WhatsApp messages two hours late, - the pictures are false, the room is much smaller than what is shown - the air-conditioning makes a horrible noise we had trouble sleeping - the balcony was dirty and overlooked with air conditioners, which gave off a smell of diesel, we could not open the windows, nor enjoy the balcony, - the room was very badly soundproofed and we could hear all the other rooms...
