How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A bit expensive, but probably typical of central Florence. Breakfast was expensive, particularly as I am a very light eater. However, lots of cafes and bakeries close by.
Central location to access all the main attractions on foot. Room very comfortable and the roof top terrace for breakfast was lovely.

The bedroom layout was very odd as our shower was in the room. Ok for some but not for everyone unless you know beforehand. There really did not make use of the terrace. It would been nice to be allowed up there in the evening.
The location was amazing, a few minutes from the ponte vecciho. The breakfast was good and the staff at breakfast were very friendly.

No bottle opener in the room so unable to utilise the mini bar. Was provided with one from reception when asked. No milk facility for tea/coffee. Needed to travel to 7th floor to get this.
Location was perfect. Right in the heart of Florence and a short walk from the river and numerous landmarks.

Although the location was perfect it was rammed in the streets mainly during the day mostly with local schools. Beautiful hotel. Gutted didn’t get to experience the roof off breakfast service though
I’m not a breakfast person but the selection here is far beyond what you would expect for a city break hotel. The location is perfect.

Room was a bit sparse, lack of plug sockets, not enough hanging space, need hooks for coats etc:
Location, location, location. Within minutes of all of the major attractions, a short walk from the palazzo vechhio and its wonderful square and restaurants, this is all about being slap bang in the middle of everything. The balcony for lazy afternoons or evening aperitif before going out was great.

Pillows. They were a bit thicker and harder than I preferred but made it work.
It was a great location. Easy to walk to many sites and stores. Room was the nicest of our stay thru Italy (Milan/Rome/Florence/Milan). Bed was comfortable.

beds were hard. Otherwise, everything was great

A/c was difficult to inderstand as was the tv controls with very limited English content
Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Florence very close to the Ponte Vechio. Charming and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom and shower.

The room was big, the balcony was amazing. By opening the doors, the busy streets of Florence fill your ears, then close the door, and it's quiet and an oasis to rest.

The bedroom we had was very tight, however as I initially booked it for one (in error!) it may have been smaller than other double/ twin rooms at the hotel.
Location, an excellent breakfast as well as the staff in the breakfast room - Laura was excellent.

The location is excellent-a 5 minute walk to most major sights and around the corner from the Ufizzi and Palazzo Vecchio. Breakfast was very good with made to order eggs, yogurt, meat, cheese, breads, cereal-a great buffet. The room was spacious and bed very comfortable. The chair and ottoman were a nice touch. Water pressure was excellent in the shower although it was open to the room which is different but no issue. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were very professional and helpful. The breakfast terrace has a wonderful view of the city. We will definitely stay again if we make it back to Florence.
