Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDifficult to find fault. The accommodation is up 130 steps from the village so doesn't suit old/infirm but you are rewarded with peace and amazing views.
Fantastic large, comfortable atmospheric room in historic old house perched high above the Amalfi coast. Superlative hosting by Michele and Bruna who helped us enjoy this quiet friendly village

United KingdomThe hill climb to the house was OK for us, but might be put off others less mobile.
Michele and Bruna's place was really lovely. The view from the top of the hill over Amalfi town out to the sea is just breathtaking! Michele goes over and above as a host to make his guests comfortable and provided some really helpful advice for daily activities. He even booked us into Mimi's for lunch - one of the best meals we had on our holiday! We enjoyed getting to know Michele who clearly has a passion for what he does and enjoys meeting people from around the world.

SwedenGreat place to go for a romantic vacation with your partner. We woke up in a beautiful room with fantastic views of the ocean. Stepping out into the main area, we were welcomed with a lovely breakfast that we enjoyed on the balcony. Our host was lovely and gave us great tips for our stay there. He helped us with whatever we needed and we felt very welcome throughout our stay there. The place is near several locations that you will want to visit during your stay. Overall, I don't think we could have asked for more.

United KingdomOur stay couldn’t have been more perfect. The view and the location are stunning and there is a real sense of peace and calm and provided respite from the heat and bustling towns of Amalfi. The room was a perfect size, clean and a great space to relax in. Breakfast in the mornings on the balcony was perfect. It is a real gem of a place and this is down to Michele who is a fantastic host - he made us feel immediately welcome and looked after. He gave us some brilliant tips and told us everything we needed to know. He’s fun and super kind and shows true Pontone hospitality - the wine tasting he took us to was one of the most amazing nights we had on holiday! For two women travelling it was great place to stay. A memorable stay and very highly recommended - we shall be back!

AustraliaJust make sure you are able to handle lots of steps if you are walking to/from Amalfi from the location. Other than that all was excellent!
Michele was an excellent host in a very good location for those on an Amalfi budget. About a 20 -25 minute walk to Amalfi (just be mindful that the steps can be a bit tiring) he provided an excellent breakfast each morning and gave great recommendations for day trips, optional experiences and restaurants. He's good value to chat to. The amenities were excellent with an excellent view of the town below. Michele also sings and plays guitar for you if you ask nicely

AustraliaWe absolutely LOVED our stay here at Palazzo Verone. The location is unreal, you wake up to the most amazing view of the Amalfi coast. The room is clean, comfortable and also very quiet at night time. Michele is a wonderful host who offers an amazing breakfast and has lots of great recommendations to do whilst on the coast. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. There are a few steps on the way up however the view is honestly breath taking so it’s worth it!

The breakfast is delicious! The B&B owner’s, Michele, is an extremely kind person. He loves brazilian songs! We had a private show during our breakfast when he sang to us GAROTA DE IPANEMA… It was delightful! Thank you so much Michele!!! “The life is an art of meeting”, we won’t forget It!

Pontone is a small town/village sitting just atop of Amalfi and is the perfect alternative to Sorento as a base on the Amalfi coast. It is walking distance to the must visit Ravello and has a lovely walk to Amalfi through the Paper Mills (Valle Delle Ferriere). All of this is made better by the hospitality of Michele and his lovely family, the charm of the villa and the lovely community.

FranceThe property in situated above Amalfi coast, in a quiet calm neighborhood with spectacular views and cozy vibes. It’s very charming and perfect for those who are looking for a true local experience. Not only is the property wonderful, but the host Michele is truly amazing, he really knows how to take care of his guests! Since the property is also about 1.7km from the coast it does require a bit of walking and stairs cases, FYI I would highly recommend!

IrelandThe breakfast was exceptional. The host Michele could not do more more for you during your stay. He was an excellent host and involved you and gave you tips and insights to the area. He is very passionate about what he does and he listens to all you needs and goes beyond what is expected from a host. He is a great musician and a very talented singer that will keep you entertained. He went outside of what is expected from a host to accommodate me.

United Statesnot a dealbreaker or major issue but there is limited parking. however the staff will also help you get a parking pass and organizes everything. well worth the trouble since most of the things worth visiting are on foot.
the area is absolutely beautiful! the property has an absolutely stunning view no matter what room you get. it’s clean and well kept and the staff is absolutely willing to help out. one note is that because it’s on a hill there is limited parking and a few steps to get there but the climb is worth it

If you are lucky, he might play it with you. The view from Palazzo is breathtaking and picturesque and overlooks the beautiful Amalfi cost and the valley. Michele will treat you like family and you will have a table set up every morning for your breakfast with a view. He was also very helpful in recommending places to eat and to visit away from the hustle bustle of Amalfi coast. We will definitely visit again!

The location of Palazzo Verona is exceptional. The property itself is a beautifully renovated 17th centaury house. Michaele was pleasant to deal with and provided very helpful information. Breakfast table has amazing view of the surrounding villages including Amalfi! One thing to note is that there are quite a few stairs leading to the place. For us it was not an issue and even a plus.

GreeceAmazing property, beautifully renovated ancient palace, with an incredible view. The only thing better than the property were the warm and helpful hosts that made you feel like a king. My only complaint about the property was that parking was a little hard to find in the very near vicinity but I got the impression that this would be a problem with any property in the area.
The beauty of the property and the amazing and very knowledgeable hosts. The room, the food, the views, and the hospitality were above our expectations.
