Bathtub is hard to get in and out of in our room. Toilet in the way and you have to squeeze between the glass without a grab bar.

Staff is so friendly and helpful. It's clean. Great location.

Lots of stairs. The elevator only goes up part way. It wasn’t a big deal for our party, but if you have mobility issues you will want to request a room with elevator access.

Excellent location. It is easy to walk to many historic sights and museums. The hotel staff were wonderful. They made sure that our stay was comfortable and even helped us make dinner reservations. It was fun to stay in a historic building. Breakfast was worth the extra cost.

The only fault was with the juice and coffee at breakfast. Both were from a machine, which meant that they were somewhat of a letdown.

Bed was too narrow and a little uncomfortable. I got all bitten up by either bed bugs or mosquitos. Location was very noisy. I usually fell asleep after the bar across the street closed.

Staff were very helpful. I appreciated the concierge-type approach. It was my Florence and their assistance made my stay more enjoyable. The view of the duomo was excellent.

Unfortunately, they turn off the heat on May 1st. We were there the first full week of May in quite chilly weather; the room and bath were uncomfortably cold. They sent up a portable heater after the second night which helped a good bit. The last of the week was sunny and warm.

The lobby staff was very friendly, very helpful. The centuries old buildings were charming. The location was perfect for walking to major sites. The buffet breakfast was varied and tasty.

The decor was very tired and dusty. This is an old palace I get it - but a bit of investment in new curtains & repainting would help.

The location is brilliant. The Duomo is 5 mins walk. The staff were helpful. The breakfast was good. The room was simply furnished. The bed was comfy. The room price was fair. 10 mins from main station by foot.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working for the 3 days we were there. The room got uncomfortably warm and the windows do not open (they are nailed shut for safety reasons I assume). I checked with the front desk and they said they were “hoping” an electrician would come “today” but that was the story each day. They were apologetic and I asked if they had any fans and they brought up 2 oscillating fans. That helped with moving the warm air around but was barely tolerable. Since our stay was short and we were outside looking at sites we just sucked it up and did not make a stink. It would be a nice gesture to receive some sort of small compensation.

We picked a large suite for the extra room and were please with the huge room. My wife enjoyed the tub to soak in at night. Location is very convenient to train station and local attractions. Breakfast selection was nice and plentiful.

Superb location, a short walking distance to the Duomo as well as the train station. I had a nice big room. Very helpful staff who held my luggage while I explored Florence before my room was ready at 2pm, they also offered use of the dining area for free coffee. Nice Florentine toiletries.

Only one thing wrong the shower sometimes did not run hot water even when I ran it for 10 minutes.. so had a couple of cold showers not pleasant.. I reported it and they were most helpful and it seemed OK after that..

Breakfast was lovely and more than adequate.. bed was very comfortable and the maid was lovely and kept the room very clean. The staff at the front desk were lovely and very helpful..

The only negative from ourselves was that the bed was uncomfortable, though this is understandably a personal thing & may suit other guests.

The Hotel location suited us very well as it was both close to the train station (we travelled in by train from Rome & also planned to travel on by train to Venice) & also to the town, allowing us to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel staff were very helpful. The room was a good size with all the features that we required, including a bath. The breakfast selection was very good.

We should have requested a room not overlooking the street as was noisy at night. Also would like a bed with a headboard so could sit up in bed to read/watch TV. No English news channels. Very few progs converted to English.

The hotel is perfectly located in the city center, within a walking distance from the Santa Maria del Fiore, and just some steps from the Santa Maria Novella square and the train station. Although our rooms did not have the painted ceilings and bed canopies that I saw in the pictures, they were comfortable and spacious and had everything needed, including the bathrobes. The interiors of the public spaces redeemed it all, making us feel like the old Palazzo habitants, especially the ceiling of the dining room - btw, the space was accessible even after the breakfast time for a cup of coffee/tea! Special thanks for letting us leave our luggage after the checkout, letting us enjoy the city for several hours before getting on the train.

The lift was a bit old and confusing. The breakfast staff was a bit rude and not very willing to help. Also breakfast wasn’t refilling from 09:00 although it’s supposed to run until 10:00.

The location was exceptional, the cleaning service and the reception polite and of very good service.
