Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIts a little bit of a walk into the main square about 30 minutes or so. So we went by taxi which cost 20 euros each way. the restaurant in the hotel was not in operation except for breakfast which means you have to go into town for a restaurant. It would be a big difference if the restaurant was open even just for dinner. No bar but staff at reception would provide any drink required. That worked fine for us but you suspect at other times they may be busy checking people in.
The hotel is an old mansion in very nice condition. The grounds are very good and there is an excellent swimming pool. We enjoyed sitting out on our patio overlooking the gardens. A lovely spot for a drink. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Especially the gentleman on reception who arranged a taxi for us and had us call him when we wanted to return by taxi. The building is very lovely and the staff are excellent.

SwitzerlandI do so hope this hotel can achieve its full potential some day - it would be great to see the restaurant re-open and a little more buzz about the place. It needs a little investment and should be a real reference point in Ostuni.
I am very fond of this hotel. The building itself is like something from a Wes Anderson set…. in a good way! Very charming, yes, she’s a little frayed around the edges in some places, but that is to be forgiven. The staff are just the best - efficient but so warm and helpful without being intrusive. If you come with a car this is just the best place - on the edge of the city with plenty of parking onsite. Peaceful, beautiful grounds.

IrelandRoom was not cleaned properly, the floor was not clean. The bathroom was not fully cleaned. Toilet seat not clean. The restaurant was closed there is no bar in the hotel. There is no lift. The break fast was quite sparse. No tea,/coffee facilities in the room. The hotel appears to be run on a shoestring budget. Definitely not worth the money.
The pool and the gardens. The reception staff were helpful and friendly especially Sonia and Georgia.

United KingdomCleanliness could have been better. Our room was always well cleaned and we couldn’t complain here, however the pool itself wasn’t cleaned every day.
Novacento is beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. There aren’t many hotels in Ostuni with a pool so this was a real find. The staff were exceptional and could not do enough for us. We were so sad to leave!

United KingdomThe hotel is up for sale and the outdoor facilities are very tired. The owner is clearly not putting any money into it, and the staff are doing their best with the facilities. The rooms and bathrooms and comfortable, but there is no onsite restaurant for the evening at the moment, and the pool area/ chairs are very worn and in need of replacing. The staff were excellent.
The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food (breakfast and the light lunch) was very good.

United KingdomThe pool wasn’t clean, full of dead flies. The air conditioner didn’t work well so we had a few sleepless nights. The rooms need decorating. If these small things were done then it would be lovely.
The property is a really beautiful old period property with a nice pools and grounds. The staff are amazing, just the nicest people but they are definitely understaffed.

United KingdomSo, although the hotel was pretty and the staff were fantastic there were some downsides. The hotel is on the outskirts of Ostuni in quite an isolated place. The nearest shops are just about within walking distance but only just! The centre of Ostuni is NOT within distance and there are no buses. The taxis are super expensive, even more pricey than the UK! We spent more money on taxis whilst here than we did on food and drink! The hotel staff were very kind and gave us a lift into town a few times, but this wasn't an official service, it was just them being nice so lots of times we HAD to use a taxi. The hotel is beautiful but doesn't have a bar or a proper restaurant. Considering it's so isolated from the town this is a real negative. The hotel does offer cold continental style breakfast, which was very nice, but served buffet style in a sort of function room. We ate ours on the terrace which was very pretty. There is nowhere to get drinks at any point apart from at breakfast. The staff again are very lovely and will get you a drink at reception but I was conscious at all times that this was an "unnoficial" service and being done out of kindness and Italian hospitality! There is no proper bar anywhere, even by the pool, so we managed to cadge a lift off some other guests who had a hire car so we could go to the supermarket. We bought drinks and kept them in our room, then had to go up to get a drink every time we wanted one. Not ideal. If you are brave you would be much better off with a hire car. The lack of a bar and a proper restaurant was only such a problem because the hotel is so far away from centre of town. If the location was better they could've got away with it. As it is unfortunately I probably wouldn't go back, but this does not reflect on the staff at all, who, as I've said were brilliant and tried so hard to do everything they could to help and counteract the lack of facilities at the hotel.
A beautiful old Manor house on the outskirts of Ostuni that was renovated into a hotel 20 - 30 yrs ago. It was renovated sympathetically to the era in which it was built and both the interior and grounds were beautiful. Not modern at all. Very Rocket St George style design (Google it if you havent heard of them). The pool area was really nice. Quite basic, but clean and lovely. The landscaped gardens were beautiful. The hotel was clean, room was nice. I had a basic room which had a fridge, an ensuite bathroom and great aircon, but no balcony, just a window. My parents had a superior room which was bigger and had access to a communal balcony. The staff were what made this hotel. They were absolutely LOVELY. I mean, they were so, SO nice, friendly and clearly liked their jobs. They couldn't do enough for me or my mum and stepdad the whole time we were there.

United StatesThe place lacks a lounge bar. and afternoon drinks and snacks are a little expensive. While Ostuni is close by, traffic is heavy and parking in town can be challenging, You can walk in but a section of the road has no pavement, and can be a little treacherous. Taxi into town, although a short ride is on the expensive side at 20 to 25 Euros.
This is a unique hotel which is well situated for exploring the area. Breakfast was fine. The staff were excellent indeed, I would particularly like to recognise Marilyn, she has a wealth of local knowledge and is very helpful. In my opinion, she went above and beyond to help us on our last day at the hotel
