Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNothing!
Beautiful property located on the side of a mountain with a lovely view over the valley, Ravello and the Mediterranean sea. The breakfast terrace was very enjoyable, and we also had the swimming pool to ourselves. Very conveniently located as we could wall to Amalfi (45min) and Ravello (25min). The staff was also extremely helpful as I forgot my wedding ring in the hotel and got it shipped back to me hassle free.

CanadaWe originally intended to bus back up and we couldn't find anywhere to buy a bus ticket multiple people mislead us including host lol but she tried very hard to get an answer and was quick to reply - this all worked out in our favour because we thoroughly enjoyed the trail hike back up, we stayed only one night.. the walk would be a lot if you stayed more than a couple nights and wanted to go back and forth to your room
This place was so nice, we were driving through amalfi coast so taking the car was doable if you are braving the coast, the traffic only gets better coming up this way and we were lucky we did because there's zero parking literally anywhere on the amalfi, here we had free, easy parking and a beautiful view - it was a 30 minute walk for us into town, all downhill so obviously back up was more difficult but it took just 35 minutes for us but it's around 3km straight uphill - you don't need to walk on any busy road there's a beautiful trail with steps and views incorporated the whole way down so the hike is worth it and our room was so cute staff was so nice and breakfast good! 2 great pools no complaints

United KingdomThe pool isn't heated so as we were there a bit early in the season it was a little cold to use. The steps are a lot if this is something you aren't used to and lots of walking is needed to reach places if you don't want to take the car or bus so could feel a little remote for some.
Villa San Lorenzo is beautiful and in a stunning location with sea views. The staff were super helpful and friendly providing us with lots of information on the local area. Parking is on site which is a bonus for the Amalfi coast. There are also free washing facilities which was a great bonus. Breakfast was good although you did have to select either sweet or savoury but as there were two of us we just got one of each and shared so not really a problem for us. Location is great for access to Ravello and Amalfi, although a little walking is required with a lot of steps.

Amazing pool, with views overlooking the coast. Room was spacious and clean throughout. Private patio terrace was a bonus. Good laundry facilities and free parking. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast offered sweet or savoury.

BelgiumJust two very minor remarks: 1) it wasnt possible to take the breakfast on the tables of the terrasse enjoying the view on Ravello And the private terrasse doesn't have a direct view on Ravello 2) in a region famous for its lemons and oranges, it would have be nice to get fresh juice without 5€ extra cost.
Very beautiful place, Incredible view on Ravello (it must be amazing to swim in the pool when its warm with this view!), friendly staff and confortable room and beds. Accessible by bus For visitors enjoying to walk, great path going from Scala to Minuta and Pontone (beautiful view on the Torre dello Ziro) - Then nice path to Atrani.

United Arab EmiratesNot related to the quality of the stay: The area is very hilly, so it would probably be challenging for people with mobility issues.
Absolutely lovely staff that were supportive even before I got there. Room was very clean, with amazing views. They took care of my dietary needs too; very accommodating.

IrelandLovely place to stay. We planned to stay 2 nights in the hotel that shares the same drive but they were full for the second night fortunately for us as San Lorenzo was way nicer and more comfortable. Sorry we didn't have the two nights there.

United StatesThe stairs are a lot but it was great exercise!
It's quiet, off the beaten path and not touristy. The pool view is STUNNING and the lemon trees feel like you wake up in a grove each morning. The rooms are even nicer than the photos I felt.

NetherlandsThe breakfast was very poor in our opinion ( one of the worst unfortunately out of places we stayed in Italy) Everything was bought ( not good quantity of the products either). No fresh fruit or vegetables, the croissant and the baked goods of poor quality. Cappuccino was nice though and the owner gave us a pice of homemade cake on our last day which was tasty.
We liked the facilities (the pool area was clean and not crowded). The room was very clean ( really clean). The staff friendly and explained everything patiently gave good tips). The parking was included and accessible, also secure. Beautiful views from many points of the facility. Mosquito nets and pils available.

United KingdomThe description mentioned transport to the villa on arrival however we didn't receive this. This would have been much appreciated as the buses were not running during the stay and the only alternative was a taxi that was charging between 50-70EUR. The transport down to Amalfi during our stay included the expensive taxi or walking 50 mins if you did not hire a car. It would have been useful to be informed that a hire car was recommended for our stay.
The location was beautiful. The pool and the views from the pool were amazing. The breakfast in the morning was always delicious and with a fantastic view. Room was cleaned on request which was appreciated.

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything that we didn’t like!
An ideal location overlooking Ravello. Much quieter which is our preference. It is a 20 - 30 minutes walk around to Ravello from Scala whether following the road, or using the local paths which are extremely steep and lots of steps (ladies this is not a place for high heels!). The pool is pristine and beautifully situated amongst the lemon groves. There was always a delightful blossom aroma surrounding you. Our first few days were in a lovely light and airy room with shower etc and it’s own small verandah - this package came with a simple breakfast on the terrace served by the owner (a great friendly hostess). The second part of our stay was in one of their apartments with our adult son and his partner. Again it was a super experience with everything you’d need for self-catering both inside (open plan kitchen, dining, lounge, 2x bathrooms) and outside with a bbq and large outdoors area; table, chairs, shower, lawn.
