Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandDespite the great amenities, the restaurants and room service/kitchen close very early. Therefore if you arrive late in the evening/night there's no food available and the 7/11 downstairs is not that great.
The location is excellent, with good access to public transport. However, there are no coffees/restaurants near, and the ones in the hotel close super early.

SingaporeThere was no escalator or elevator from the train station to the hotel, which would be useful for those carrying luggage.
We had a view of Shinjuku Chuo Park which was pleasant. Location above Tochomae station was also convenient, and is a short train journey to Shinjuku and other attractions. Also useful that the Airport Limousine has a scheduled stop at the hotel which is one of the advantages of staying here

GermanyAll was perfect. Can only recommend.
Amazing hotel which exceeded our expectations! Staff was super friendly and helpful, hotel is very close to several Metro/Subway/Bus stations and all reachable within less than 5min by foot, Shinjuku Station can also be reached by foot, 7/11 right underneath the hotel, everything you need is close by. Rooms are quite spacious and very clean. We had a super nice view on Mount Fuji on clear days.

NepalHouse keeping does the bare minimum. They don’t clean or organise the room at all. They only do the bed, bins and replace the water and coffee etc. They ought to at least organise a messy room by folding thrown clothes or remove dirty glasses and things that have fallen. Hotel guests are often in a rush and rarely find time to organise the room themselves which is why there’s housekeeping. It’s in the name. It was odd. For example if a sweater or shirt fell on the floor they’d leave it on the floor. If there was a sweater thrown on the bed they would make the bed and just throw the sweater back on there. Very weird. And we are paying very high prices. No room service past 10pm. No pool atm either.
Breakfast, room facilities and beds were pretty good and staff service was prompt enough.

United StatesThe staff loves to remind you that the breakfast buffet closes at 10:30. Expect this to happen when you first arrive, then again about every 10 minutes starting around 9:45. Don't be fooled - Shinjuku Station is not "close." Getting to and from the Hyatt Regency to Shinjuku Station involves a solid 20 minute hike down the street and through a long corridor. Although, there is a subway stop basically right underneath the hotel that you can use to hop onto the Toei line to Shinjuku Station that is much quicker and less walking (especially with luggage). Finally, we were shocked at how early the restaurants in the area closed. Many close at 7p. Most close at 8p. Thank goodness for the Chinese restaurant at the hotel.
The view was amazing (paid extra for it). Restaurants nearby. 7-11 nearby. Family Mart nearby. Subway stations nearby. Professional, full service staff that speak multiple languages. Buffet breakfast was a full spread and worth every penny. Surprisingly quiet for being in the middle of Tokyo Shinjuku. Fantastic Chinese restaurant at the hotel that stays open until 10p.

AustraliaThe rooms are tiny, cramped and dated. Beware if you order a room for 2 adults and 2 children you will only be given 2 beds, one similar to a double bed, the other a fold out single bed.

United StatesOne small drawback was the size of the room. Given the price I had hoped it would be slightly larger, but overall it is still quite large when compared to many typical Japanese hotels. The lobby itself was also a little bit of a challenge to find coming from the nearby train station, and getting luggage to it without using stairs was a bit tricky, so I suppose better signage from all train stations could help.
The room was very modern and I like the design of the shower glass next to the bed. It may not be to everyone's taste and may not be the best for a family, but I like the modern aesthetic. The view from my room was decent and the hotel lobby was large and elegant. I only stayed here one night so unfortunately I didn't get to see everything the hotel had to offer, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. All staff I interacted with spoke excellent English and I was always met with a smile. Very polite, courteous staff overall.

AustraliaI believe there could be better information for tourists with English speaking assistance at the desk. Sometimes it was rather difficult to understand what they meant. We are from Australia and do not have much communication with Japanese people where we live.
The Location was further out of the city than I imagined. We were not able to take the underground so I had to take taxis everywhere we needed to go.

United KingdomNothing in particular but the hotel is a little dated in respect of decor and the top floors are not all utilised where the best views are ~ the bar should move up there!
Service was splendid. The buffet breakfast was one of the best! Rooms are one of the spacious in Tokyo, v good for three of us with ample luggage. We stayed at the start and end of a trip and were able to store our luggage at the hotel as well as have a package delivered and received by the hotel before our return.
