Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The hut was beautiful and very luxurious. At first arrival we thought the jungle was a bit meh, but in actuality we saw many birds right from our terrace. Including several Tucans (our hut was called Tucán). Dinner was very nice. Breakfast box to take to Calakmul was very convenient. Very relaxing place.

Calakmul is a great place to visit. The decoration was nice and the breakfast was good. Also they provide lunch packages for your day trips.

An excellent place to stop near Xpujil. Very little options in this area and these chalets in the natural enviroment were excellent. We stayed her for two separate nights when touring from the north of Yucatan to the South and Back. Nice little restaurant and bar on site. All in all a very pleasant surprise.

We stayed for 2 nights in March in a joined bungalow with two bedrooms. We loved our bungalow! Private safe parking out front for our hire car. Lovely big rooms with great facilities in each half of the bungalow. Views into surrounding trees and very private. Terrace to sit out on and again very private. Could walk (or drive) to the shared restaurant area. Breakfast was good. Dinner options good too. We ate both days at the hotel and had a few drinks before walking back to our bungalow too. We really enjoyed the company of the family dogs as we were missing our dogs - so lovely to have some dog cuddles and play. Staff were really helpful and professional. We took a tour to Calakmul with Ka’an Expeditions which we can highly recommend. It was great for someone else to do the driving and the guiding and we had a fabulous tour guide. Great 2 night stay at Casa Kaan and just perfect for our tour and experience of Calakmul with Ka’an Expeditions.

GermanyIt's definitely a bit on the pricy side but fari enough, it's the only good hotel in a radius of 100km.
This Hotel is by far the best you will find in the area, Staff speaks English, the little bungalows are just right, have everything you will need. It's clean and quiet. They offer lots of food, Mexican but also pastas and other things.

FranceSerious mishap at checkin due to poor communication by the staff. But the management did apologize and refunded us one night. This is not a convenient place for travelers without a car. Too far away from Xpujil, too spread out in the forest.
Quiet and remote in the middle of the forest. Each cabin is at least 4 to 500 feet away from the other ones, so it feels like you are by yourself. Very comfortable cabin.

United KingdomOur cabin was 1 minute away by car from the bar/restaurant, we therefore decided to walk to it on our first evening, which it took mabe 10 minues max. So, it is not far at all. However, as it is all in the forest and yes, you do have a large gravel road to walk on, but when we went back to the cabin it was very dark. I am not saying it was not safe, we managed it alright, but perhaps if few small lights were placed on the route from the bar/restaurant to the cabins it would have made the walk a little easier and perhaps an improvement worth thinking about. On the second night we drove by car, so not an issue.
We stayed for two nights at the Casa Kaan Calakmul because we wanted to visit the Calakmul archeological site, which is a couple of hour drive away. There are a number of places around Xpujil we could have stayed but we settled for Casa Kaan after reading the reviews of previous travellers and checking that it had the three basic requirements we were loking for in our accommodation: brekfast included, wifi and parking space. On these three requirements, Casa Kaan delivered fully, no complaints, but there was so much more we were impressed with that we can only reccomend this place. Granted, it is a bit on expensive side, but I think the quality of the accommodation, the well organised staff and the great food we had, all make up for it and, for us, it was all worth it. Mind, it is a bit of an unusual set up. The reception is basically at a little kiosk in the middle of the forest (but just 5min from the main road) which is also a bar and a restaurant with a lovely open seating area. Here is where we had our breakfasts and we also stayed for our dinners as it was just a lovely place (we did not fancy driving to Xpujil which did not really look appealing). Well, the food at Casa Kaan is first class, we really enjoyed the tuna tartar and also the cocktails but the entire menu was very good and with great choices. Breakfast also excellent: coffee, fruit, eggs in various options, all really delicious. The accommodation is in little cabins, away from the reception / bar / restaurant, even more into the forest. You are literally surrounded by trees and nothing else. The little bungalow is not really that little: we had two bedrooms, a livingroom with sofa and TV, a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, aircon, ceiling mounted fans, Alexa-enabled appliances thoghout (not joking), and a nice spacious batroom with a hot shower. I mean... yes it is more expensive than the alternatives but it also delivered more.

Czech RepublicThe water had a low pressure, so it wasn't easy to shower. The water was quite cold, too. There was a musty smell, but it was manageable with open windows, and we slept very well through the night.
Great location embedded in the heart of a jungle but easily accessible from Xpujil and the main road. The bungalow is well equipped with everything we needed to prepare for a trip to Calakmul and a rest afterward. The staff was super friendly, and so was the restaurant and the breakfast.
