How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The internet did not work, and entrance is very crowded since it’s just one to come in or out. But this is nothing they really have much control over.
Hosts are very easy to communicate with , place is organized and very well kept . Excellent views.

It was extremely well kept and renovated. Tania was amazing, attentive, and available when we had questions and concerns. I love the fact that the penthouse came with usable appliances and other personal items. The instructions manual left was super helpful. 10 out of 10 will be staying here again in the future. Thank you so much Tania for your hospitality and patience with our first-time experience here. You are awesome!!!

Bath soap and shampoo was not provided. We brought our own and also went to the local supermarket. The circuit tripped on our last night when we had both washer and dryer on. Due to the holiday season, the host could not respond in time, understandably. Turns out, the main circuit breaker was not located in the unit but in the hallway. This was figured out by speaking to other tenants in the building. Also, one of the elevators was acting funky. It always makes a stop before the destination floor.
Overall clean apartment. 3BR and conveniently stocked with appliances and kitchen utensils. A/C and fans provide adequate cooling and circulation. Also appreciated the washer/dryer and laundry detergent available. For those who want to stay a bit further out from Old San Juan, this is a great location.

Plug in air fresheners were bad. We unplugged them all and it was much better.
Each bedroom had A/C. Nice view from the living room.

I love the smell of the home when I entered. Each room had a very comfortable air condition that made the home very cool. The home was very clean and I appreciate the host for great communication!

Could have used a few more towels since we were a group of three. Everything else was PERFECT!
The apartment owner was very helpful and kind. She answered our queries within seconds. Everything was clean and in order. Netflix works! This Puerto Rican condo is a dream. It has a beautiful view of the city from high above the ground on the 19th floor. It's right next door to the LDS Temple. It is perfect for any stay in Puerto Rico!

The cleaning was not done to a hotel standard. The shower had sand and someone else's hair in the drain. There was no soap or shampoo to use. Which I typically expect from an airbnb or vrbo, but because I booked through booking I thought maybe it would be different. We only stayed one night, but it would have been nice to use the washer and dryer but there was no laundry detergent. The laundry soap is only left out for guests who stay more than a night.
I liked that the home had 3 bedrooms and a designated parking spot. There was a nice little welcome binder with good information. We used their recommendation for a breakfast restaurant and it ended up being our favorite meal on the whole trip! I also appreciated that they had aloe vera and some other lotions for after sun exposure. Probably items that people left behind, but I still appreciated that they didn't get thrown out.
