Parking is not onsite, we had to walk a few blocks with our bags. Beds were exceedingly firm for us.

Staff was very helpful and courteous. Check in was quick. Hotel location allows easy walking access to many areas along the port/harbour areas. Several good restaurants to choose from.

The room had a bit of a musty smell, and I figured out the hard way that you had to really pull the room door hard to get it to close properly behind you.

Great location, nice modern rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast (and restaurant for dinner), they even packed a to-go breakfast bag for my early departure flight. Good AC, comfortable bed.

Breakfast was borderline exceptional. Possible qualification are the scrambled eggs; this could be changed to omelets or fried eggs once in a while.

Even though overall room and the whole facility seemed very clean I had a concern with the sheets. There were two beds in my room and I was planning to sleep on one, but it wasn’t unpleasantly surprised to unfold and see that the sheets were stained and there were black hairs under the blanket. Second bed was ok so I slept on it. The walls are very thin. I could hear person snoring in the neighbour room at night. Not a deal breaker for me but good to be aware of for some sensitive sleepers

It was quite tricky to get to/find power socket to charge the phone

Reception is open 24 hours which is really handy if you are arriving late or have a delay. I was leaving before breakfast serving time but I was still allowed to come in earlier which was very nice!

Very solid, authentic, spacious room, old fashioned sturdy comfortable beds, super restaurant, staff remember how you like your morning coffee and make it before you ask, impeccable service, calm and efficient, and non fancy great quality dinners. Reception super helpful with all types of requests and questions. Great location in old center. Loved it, reluctant to recommand because I do not want it fully booked when I want to go again!

We felt very comfortable at Alcides hotel. Nothing to complain about.

Excellent location in the centre of Ponta Delgada near restaurants. The staff was helpful and polite. The lady at the reception informed us about free parkings near the hotel, around 5-7 min of walking. The breakfast was really good, with tasty local food like fresh cheese, bread and options to make yourself a fresh orange juice.

Amazing location, delicious restaurant in the hotel, super helpful and sweet staff and the room was so clean and had all we needed. And the breakfast was delicious! Will recommend to anyone staying in Punta Delgada and will stay here when I’m back. So glad to have found this place!

Dinner in the restaurant was excellent for our first evening. After that, there were problems of items on the menu shown outside, on the street, turned out not to be on the menu displayed in the hotel lobby for that day. The second time we had dinner there it turned out there were two of the items we wanted had run out. There may be problems with the chef, because the waiting staff were very efficient and attentive.

Everything except as below. Catarina on Reception was outstandingly helpful and patient throughout our stay.

Just the strange noise from the corridor.

The room was nice but there was a noise in the corridor I couldn't pinpoint. Maybe it was the elevator or the heating, I don't know. Breakfast was very good. They even served fresh orange juice. The location is ideal being right in the center of the historical part of Ponta Delgada. To the hotel belongs also a quite well know restaurant. I didn't have time to eat there so I can't tell anything about the food.

The location was perfect and within walking distance to the main city gate, all the shops, cafes and the water. You are right in the centre of it all. The staff were wonderful, especially the lady making sure the breakfast was up and running and well stocked. Always smiling and very pleasant. A real joy. The young girls at the front desk were lovely, especially the one with long wavy dark hair. She was smiling and very helpful. The cleaning staff were also lovely.
