Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

TurkeyIf there was a TV it would be nice but for this place (with many things around) it was not a big issue. Some houses have boxes with passwords, they keep the keys. It is a nice method for check-in and check-out. If there were something like this, there would not be a late check in fee.
Great location, you can walk everywhere, everytime. It was an old building in old town, so it was a nice experience. We made late check-in with fee, neighbour gave the keys. We asked for more tovels and next they we had, thank you. They provide enough coffee, water, toilet paper etc., these are really important while renting a house. We did not need shopping except for some food. There were also pasta, oils, etc. Evenings and nights were really loud because of the people on the street but it was also fun, we felt it was a living city and we had a preferred location. You can buy drinks from bars with pijamas and drink at home :)

United StatesOnly 2 issues really: - The internet connection provided here is not real broadband but rather just a mobile hotspot, so the speeds and connectivity go up and down. I had to restart the hotspot about 3 times during my stay cuz it stopped working entirely. The connection is probably fine if you just need internet for just casual browsing but if you are like me and need a solid fast connection for work (e.g. VoIP, teleconferencing, etc) it is really insufficient. - Also, about 2 months before my booking, I wanted to shift my stay by two days (same length of stay, just two days earlier) and the host informed me that while he did have vacancy, he would not honor the existing nightly rate of the reservation and would have to charge me their new nightly rate which was significantly higher, which is kinda a shady practice if you ask me.
The flat itself is beautiful, spacious, well-kept, decorated very nicely, and well-furnished. The host is easy to get a hold of and responsive to any questions or requests. This flat is extremely well-located right in the heart of Barrio Alto. If you’re not familiar, this is Lisbon’s party central, so do be aware that at night this is NOT a quiet neighborhood. During the day it's pretty calm, and the apartment has modern double-paned windows and even a secondary shutter that together are very effective at keeping out 95% of the nighttime party ruckus, but do keep in mind you will still hear some of it.

SloveniaThe apartment is suitable for 2 people/couple, not more. They extra charge for late check in (1-2 hours). A lot of problems with the front door to opening. WiFi not very good. The owner is not very reacheable.
The location is near the center and party streets. The local people are very friendly.

Also, maybe I was just unlucky because the host wrote he was unaware of the following problems: · non-functioning fridge (20°C inside the fridge and 6°C in the freezer compartment), · broken toaster.

CanadaThe area is a party place and very noisy no air-conditioned in the place and you cannot open the only window as it's on the street Overall bad experience and overpriced. Plus we were charged 25 euro for a late checking around 10 pm plus the owner ask additional cash because of taxes so the total cost for late checkin was 40 euro a total ripe off. For a very uncomfortable uncomfortable place without AC.

United StatesThe apartment was super loud so we barely slept, even with ear plugs. Our host charged us a late check in fee for arriving after 7pm even though our arrival in Lisbon was entirely out of our control. The address our host gave us was incorrect. They didn’t provide enough toilet paper.
