Nothing to dislike, really.

It was not a hotel but a guesthouse with the loveliest hosts a person can ask for. There was a pond. There were ducks. It was a dream.

Everything about this place was just perfect, from the super-friendly hosts to the beautiful river passing just outside the windows. However, it's worth noting that having a car is essential for staying at this location.

Beautiful sourrounding and garden. Great hospitality. If you are looking for a quite relaxing place to find peace and gain refreshment from daily routine. This is the perfect place to be. Extraordinary breakfast aline your preferences with scrambled eggs a la Carlos. Exciting travel through the mountains of Madeira. Do all your shopping before arrival as the next supermarket is some way to go.

Carlos and Leonore are a most sweet, lovely couple that you can think of! They do everything to make you feel like home. Vegan friends, they offer a great vegan breakfast at request! The place is like a garden of Eden. All the delights of the northern Madeira are near. I wish that I could have stayed for a month!

Small things that are of no importance

The location was very fantastic, but we think it requires a car. You are a part of nature. Surrounded by plants and flowers and a river. A bit like in the jungle. We are not usually into breakfast, but Carlos's breakfast was fabulous. We loved sitting in his kitchen and eating delicacies and hearing stories. His scrambled eggs were the best ever. Carlos an Leonor were very attentive to what you liked and there was always something new every day. Everything is not perfect, but it becomes when you have met Carlos and Elonor. They are so lovely people and they will do everything to make you feel good and at home. Thanks for making our visit so special :)

everything was perfect!

The place is nestled deep in the mountains, it made our stay in Madeira very special and completely different from the last two days in Funchal. the setting is paradisiac, with a stream running right below the cosy little house. The hosts, Comandante Carlos and his wife Eleonora are amazingly sweet and welcoming, they care for everything and prepare a great homely breakfast with fresh local produce. It was an unforgettable stay!

All was lovely

The whole accomodation was a wonderful paradise. We enjoyed the full equipped nice country house with a beautiful garden and the river. Carlos and Leonor are extremely hospitable and friendly hosts. Everything was great, bathing in the river, the delicious breakfast made by Carlos was for us an unique experience. The wifi was sometimes spotty.

Everything! The location is a bit difficult to reach, but totally worth it. The buildings and the surroundings are taken straight off a fairy tale. The apartment is fully functional. The hosts are incredibly kind and friendly, and speak good English.

We can think of nothing that could be improved. All facilities were perfect. Our hosts are wonderful people and the place is like a little piece of paradise.

We loved everything about staying Moinho. Carlos and Leonor are the most wonderful hosts and we fell in love immediately with the incredibly beautiful place they made. In the mornings Carlos makes a wonderful breakfast with whatever you prefer, in the evenings you can enjoy a quiet drink in the bar or outside in the gardens or take advantage of the sauna! We can't wait to return there soon!

Moinho is in a unique location in the hills above Faial. You have your privacy at the same time you are only minutes away from the coast or levada walks. Carlos and his wife really do make you feel like family.
