Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaBreathtaking view. The owner offered to fetch us from and back to the bus station during check-in and out. Breakfast was absolutely delicious paired with the stunning view. Dinner is available to be arranged in advance at a small cost and I regret not taking it. Experiencing tea making ceremonies is fun. Definitely coming back again.

United KingdomDrizzle Tea House is the perfect place to stay. We stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed the beautiful local trails and also day trips to the surrounding areas. The hosts will take such good care of you. We were collected and dropped to the bus station, we had carefully prepared meals and also a tea ceremony. The views are amazing and the rooms are clean and comfortable. This is a truly special place and we are very thankful for our time here.

United StatesAlthough the staff do either speak fluent English or use machine translators, I think I could've gotten more out of the stay if my Chinese was better. I'm motivated to improve so I can have more experiences like this one
Location, room and food were all excellent. Staff went above and beyond for our stay. We were picked up from the bus stop, given a tour of the tea production facilities, a demo of a few different types of tea in English, handwritten notes on bus times, and much more

One of the best places I have ever stayed. As a tea lover, the location was magical. Absolutely stunning views. The room facilities looked basic but were actually modern, very new and spotlessly clean. Really good bathroom, bed was comfortable. This place is run by a family and the hospitality was amazing. You must must must contact them to arrange dinner. I also highly recommend booking the field to cup tea experience. The breakfast was amazing too, and they even arranged a dinner with a nearby business also run by the family on one night when they couldn't make dinner themselves. Give yourself a little longer here than you think you need. I found the hikes nearby more enjoyable than Alishan forest area itself. It's a magical place.

GermanyOnly thing that could be improved is to add hooks for the towels in the bathroom
Great location for all hikes in the area, and very conveniently located in walking distance from the village bus stop. I was even picked up by the host when i arrived. A very nice and big dinner can be booked, a very tasty breakfast is included. I loved my room and bathroom, everything seemed very clean and new. In the morning i participated in a (free) tea ceremony which was interesting and very good. You can also find many other places in the area doing something similar, but it really felt like a meditative ceremony and i loved the tea.

GermanyVery humid room. A bit pricey.
Unique stay, the (two) rooms are on a working tea farm in the middle of a plantation with great views of the mountains (once the fog clears). New, modern and clean room, very comfortable mattress, fast and stable Wifi. Great local breakfast, they even prepare a vegetarian option if you ask the evening before. Owner is very friendly, welcoming and responsive, english communication only via Google translate (but no problem).

FranceMy mom and I tremendously enjoyed our stay here :) Drizzle tea house is in the middle of tea plantations (grown by the owner’s family) and you wake up to amazing views and there are many beautiful trails nearby to explore. The home cooked breakfast and dinner are great! and incredibly sumptuous, giving a taste of authentic alishan food. The room was also very new, clean and comfortable. To top it off, the family welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we would definitely want to return!

HungaryI don’t know how I would have found the place without my tour guide though. I’m sure its’s doable I’m just happy I didn’t have to do it. The room could do with a chair as there is nowhere to sit apart from the bed. But for one night and one person the room was perfect.
I loved my stay at Drizzle Tea House! My organised tour dropped me at the bottom of the hill entrance where the owner collected me and drove us up on the hill. The owner used a superb voice translator which made communication easy. He booked a table for me for dinner and drove me to the bottom of the hill to the restaurant (short drive but him driving made life easy). One of the restaurant staff then drove me to the stairs to go up to the tea farm. I had no problem walking up but if you do that is a consideration. The room was very nice and cosy. I could hear the neighbouring room though a bit. The included breakfast was amazing. It was served on the terrace overlooking the tea farm on the hill. Then I had a 30 minutes induction to making and drinking tea free of charge! That was amazing as well. The girl who did the presentation had good English and was very articulate. Then the owner drove me down the hill to the bus stop for me to catch my bus.

AustraliaCan't complain with much.
Our stay at Drizzle Tea House was phenomenal, the hosts are wonderfully warm and generous and make you feel at home. Breakfast is exceptional with a tea ceremony to follow which is just serene. Dinner can be organised with the host in advance which is also recommended! The location is beautiful, walking around the tea farms at sunrise is something we'll never forget. There is only two rooms available here so it is extremely intimate and special. Highly recommend staying here, it was one of our highlights in our 3 weeks in Taiwan.

United StatesRoom was light at night because of bright lights on the porch and insufficient curtains. It would be good to dim these lights at night. It was hard to find- it is up a very long staircase from where it shows on google maps. After we wandered around confused for a while someone showed up with a van to bring us and our luggage up.
Incredible experience. Dinner and breakfast were high-end restaurant quality- nine dishes at dinner and six for breakfast, all delicious and beautifully plated. Tea ceremony was lovely. Staff were very helpful and spoke a little English or used an automated translator.

GermanyThe room is a little small and the window overlooks the passageway between two buildings. But step outside and everything is great. As described elsewhere, you need to climb a few hundred steps to get up to the property. The owner can bring you up by microbus though, but the road is too small for normal cars. You do need to travel a bit to find outside food.
This B&B has only two guest rooms at the moment, situated in the middle of tea fields. You wake up and go outside with fantastic views over the fields and the mountains. It's very dreamy. Breakfast is served overlooking the fields or in a bamboo-framed room. The breakfast is fantastic with some of it coming straight from the garden just below the house. Since it's a tea plantation, we also attended a tea ceremony and tasted their varieties. Their Assam is an eye-opener. Our biggest regret is not opting for the evening meal with them. There are various walking trails starting from near the house, but be warned that they can be steep.

CanadaNot so much what we didn't like. More so considerations for others who might be considering the property. Recommend other travelers searching for "Lin Yuan Tea Factory" on Google Maps instead of "Drizzle Tea House" if searching in English. Also, it is not fully accessible as there is a flight of outdoor stairs from parking to the accommodations. The staff were kind enough to help transport our heavier luggage using their small trucks and the backroads.
The view: Amazing. You can really experience the fabled mountain weather of Alishan. We saw blue skies with clear views of the mountains and the lower plain. And then clouds rolled in to cover everything in a mystical fog. All in one afternoon. The tranquility: We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. It looked as if there were only a couple of rooms so everything felt very private and peaceful, well suited for the general vibe of the surrounding tea gardens. Location: a 3-min drive to a 24-hour 7-11. There are trails right within a 5-10 min walk of the tea gardens, including a "Sakura Trail" which I'm sure it's lovely in the Spring. We saw a thick grove of bamboo on the trail. We used it as base camp for Alishan Cleanliness and Comfort: The room was modern and very clean. Fresh linens. The shower had good water pressure. We appreciated the extra shelvings for storage, and the hot water kettle. There were a few mosquitoes outside, but not too bad for a mountain environment. A plug-in bug repellant was available. Extras: The complementary breakfast was absolutely delicious and very filling. And it was served with a pot of freshly brewed tea. We also opted for their dinner service (extra cost) and it was Taiwanese homecooking at its finest (three proteins, two vegetables, rice, one soup, one fruit). A lot of the vegetables seemed to be from their vegetable garden. We also partook in their complementary tea tasting (about 1-2 hours) where they introduced the different types of tea produced and how to best enjoy them (and tea in general). It was completely in Mandarin so I translated for my partner. It was a wonderful learning/relaxing experience. The instructor was so calm in her demeanor and graceful in her demonstration. She was very knowledgeable and was generous with her time. There are a couple of cats and dogs hanging about the property. Even the animals give out super chill vibes.
