Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe rooms had a weird smell as soon as you walked in. Definitely need to make the place smell better.
Location is perfect. Close to train station. Loved the rooftop bar.

United KingdomBreakfast was sometimes a little crowded, making it awkward for family groups to find seating together. Occasional shortage of cutlery in particular.
Excellent location for tourism. Friendly and helpful staff made the stay generally comfortable. Inclusion of breakfast made a good start to every day, with provision catering for a range of tastes.

United StatesThe only thing that would have been a welcomed extra is a mini-fridge in the room. Nowhere to store restaurant leftovers or keep beverages cold.
The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone - hot and cold options and plenty of fresh fruit. The hotel staff was exceptional - friendly and helpful! Located directly across from Moynihan Train Hall and just steps to the subway - SO convenient!

ItalyBreakfast is average at best. Low quality products served in paper cups and plastic cutlery. Europe is pushing to save and recycle and the amount of waste here is ridiculous. Everything wrapped in plastic, everything goes in one bin. Not sustainable AT ALL.
Comfortable room and fantastic view; great location.

Italy- We were expecting more food choices for breakfast, the food options also were not identical on any given day. Some pastries or savory options were not there everyday - Common areas were not very clean, especially the common restrooms and carpets
- Excellent location, very close to the subway station - Nice bathroom with very spacious shower - Bed was comfortable and big - Staff was friendly and helpful

New ZealandRoom and amenities clean and well presented, but a bit dated. Cost reflective of high costs of hotels in NY generally. Disappointed there was no tea/coffee facilities in room.

IsraelThere were 3 elevators but only 2 worked very slowly, sometimes we had to wait about 20 minutes and sometimes we just went down the stairs. The breakfast was minimal and if we went down for breakfast about an hour after it opened there would be almost nothing left to eat
the location is super close to every main attraction the room and bed are OK

AustraliaThe elevators were a punish. There was one of three closed for repairs from March and 2 elevators for 24 floors was not enough. It meant we took the stair more often that we liked. There is no fridge in your room, which we expected in a hotel in New York. No stands to put your suit cases on either. Breakfast was included but it was so busy that you could not get your hands on quite a number of items. We ended up not going at all and purchasing food.
The location was great. The bed was comfortable and we didn't mind that the room was cleaned every second day.

GermanyBreakfast room is a bit small for the size of the hotel. But all in all, it's a good place to stay.
You get great value for your money here. Location is excellent (also right across from Penn Station, so easy to get to by train) and breakfast is good, especially for a US chain hotel. This was my third stay here and I'd definitely recommend it for an NYC trip.

United KingdomThe breakfast comes with the room, but it’s pretty bad, unfortunately. There just seemed to be a lack of pride in the food put out. The cooked breakfast meats were pretty greasy and there were no vegetable accompaniments like tomatoes, mushrooms etc… The oatmeal (porridge) was sad, lumpy, unseasoned and watery. The only decent food we found were the bagels and that’s pretty much all we ate after the first morning. If a nice breakfast is important to you, this may not be your place. Unfortunately we didn’t have much of a view from our room - we were only on the 4th floor and overlooked a courtyard filled with air conditioning vents. At check in, we were told that we might be able to get a room higher up in the hotel the following day - however, we would have needed to re-pack, vacate the room, put all our luggage in storage then wait until the new room was ready. On balance, the view wasn’t that important to us, so we chose not to. I guess it was nice of them to offer to upgrade us. Just bear in mind that you may not get put in a room with the view you’re expecting. Aside from the room, we found the hotel facilities to be a bit lacking. The rooftop bar was closed when we were there (April) and the downstairs bar was too loud to have a conversation. It was also pretty empty when I was there so had a bit of a weird vibe. Also $11 for a bottle of Modelo!! You are allowed to take drinks to the quieter and more comfortable lobby however.
This hotel is really well located and perfectly decent in terms of comfort and room facilities. The bed was pretty good, the bathroom was well sized and shower had good pressure. The gym facilities are pretty good with a range of cardio and resistance machines and some free weights and other equipment.
