Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe heat in the room was insufficient. The heating system in room 521 was unable to satisfy the thermostat especially at chilly night times! The temperature was about 68*. When I went to speak with Keith at the front desk I noticed how warm the lobby was! He said he’d have someone look at it. It looked like someone raised the thermostat setting to 88* but that didn’t raise the temperature in the room! Also we had to run the water in the bathroom sink and shower for about 10 minutes to get any hot water!

United StatesI had to pay $50 to park on top of what I had to pay just to stay at the hotel. They gave you no warning about and extra $50. You are basically forced to pay it if you drive to the hotel in your own car.

United StatesA couple of outlets did not work. Overnight staff was very unpleasant. When my room key did not work around 1 am the worker delayed in letting me into the lobby even after I gave home my name and showed the inactive key. He then said, let’s go check this supposedly not working key. His attitude improved as we approached and got to the room and he let me in but said he could not reset my key and I’d have to do it in the morning.
I like the motel set up of the hotel. Easy to access which is great since my hours were a bit odd.

United StatesNever seen seen the property the concierge answered the phone hung up on me and slammed the phone with a giant attitude on the background. I tried to call a few times back hung up on me again hung up and then won’t answer. I lost money.
On a work trip, the concierge was the front desk hung up on me so I don’t know the experience of the hotel. Never got to see it. I need a full refund.

The staff was very friendly. The night manager, Keith, is a super friendly, kind, and accommodating person. I was there for a hospital procedure and he did everything possible to make sure I'd be comfortable in the room when I returned from the procedure, including flowers. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast adequate, loved that there was off street parking, and the location quiet yet close to everything.

United StatesHotel check in was drawn out even though i had already paid and booked online. Front desk staff repeatedly announced my room number, full name, and credit card number loudly to the entire room with other customers waiting behind me. It was a security risk. Hotel room was clean but not very comfortable and there was a loud noise that kept us awake all night.
The room was clean and it was a standard hotel breakfast. They let us check in past check in hours when our train broke down and we were stuck on the t for two hours later than planned.

ColombiaThis have been the saddest hospitality I have ever received. The person in the reception treated me as I had never been treated in my whole life. Besides that, they do not want to give me my money back when I just use the room to get a nap and a shower after passing the whole night seated on a couch (Thanks God the person in the reception didn't find a taxi to kick me out with no internet connection or another play to stay in the middle of the night). It's sad how this can happens to people who just want to visit a city and have a pleasant hospitality. I still want my money back.
