Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaWe saw only one handicap in the hotel - the hotel room lacked a wardrobe. The room had only a coat hanger and a chest of drawers with three drawers. There was very little storage space, so the clothes had to stay in the trunk. In the end, this shortcoming was compensated by other pleasant things, so we rate the stay at the hotel as great.
Pleasant hotel, great location near the Empire State Building, walking distance to Times Square and other tourist spots. Both the subway station and the Macys department store were really close. The terrace on the 26th floor of the hotel offers a beautiful view of the surroundings and the Empire State Building. We also had such a view from our room, which was especially beautiful in the evening. Breakfast was good, you could also choose food before trips around New York - toast, sausages, waffles, yogurt, fruit. Friendly staff, rooms were very well cleaned every day. The advantage was the possibility of sitting in the common areas near the reception, where there was free tea and apples for hotel guests all day.

ItalyThe WiFi connection was very bad. It only worked sufficiently well on the ground floor, but in the room we had very often 0 connectivity. They did some maintenance during our stay: we saw no difference in the following days. As for the breakfast, the food didn't taste fresh and was very basic and limited. There was no variety nor choice: everyday you basically had only one option for each food type and it repeated on rotation every other day. The worst aspect though was the lack of space. The breakfast room doesn't have enough capacity for all the guests and disrespectful ones are free to behave as they want without anyone from staff supervising the room: they take extra chairs, move tables around, sit for extended time even if they see other guests eating while standing. We saw some people "stealing" chairs from other guest's table whilst they were gone refilling their cup of coffee. Breakfast rules are also not clearly stated: each guest is supposed to clean up the table and throw away their food waste before leaving the room, but most of the guests were not doing so causing even more discomfort and chaos. The price of the hotel, given the overall experience, is not that convenient and feels inflated just to provide discounts: this way you end up paying standard price anyway, but thinking you scored a good deal.
Position of the hotel is very good as you can walk to most of the main attractions in Manhattan. The rooms could use some refreshment but overall they are good sized and have anything you'd need, including a comfy bed. Room cleaning service was also very good (except for one day when they forgot to provide the clean towels and new soap).

Friendly staff, great location. Nive breakfast - there was a talk about lines and queues, but maybe we weren't at the peak of the season - we didnt have any at all. We were a family of 5 so the rooms was very crowded - but we knew that and expected it.

United StatesThe breakfast was one of the best hotel buffets I've had in the US. The location and price were the main draw for the hotel. Walking distance from Penn Station! The bed was very comfortable. The hair dryer in the bathroom was a nice touch.

United StatesThe room tv was very hard to operate and glitchy Not a lot of channels either. As we were in town for basketball we wanted to watch some games we were not attending in person and we ended up going to a bar to watch. Staff could not figure out how to help us...though they did try.
As hotels go, it was pretty basic. But everything was spotless, all the facilities were as advertised and the included breakfast, something of a rarity on manhattan, was top notch. I spent a bit extra to get a higher room away from the city noise and that was well worth it. We were rewarded with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building. We were attending the Big east tournament at MSG and the hotel was perfectly located....Far enough from the bustle of the MSG neighborhood, close enough to walk there fairly quickly.

United StatesI"m still waiting for my 100 dls refound...... In the room: the 5 days we had many problems with the drainage of the shower tub. We were 5 in a family and we were only able to bathe 2 each day because the water stagnated in the tub and took a long time to drain. The first night we stayed and we went to shower, only one adult and one child took a shower. because the water remained stagnant. The next day I reported it to lobby staff. On the afternoon we arrived they had already "fixed" the stagnant water. The lobby staff never let us know if the problem had been resolved. BUT, when we showered, the problem with stagnant water continued after only one person showered, the water stagnated and reached the middle of the shower. The shower curtains were never changed. On the third day it stank very badly. of breakfast: lack of space to sit. We stayed 5 days and went down at different times to see if we could eat comfortably in the spaces there. but we could never, we had to pick up the food and take it to the room. We were just on the 26th floor. The coffee needed a little stronger. I am a person who likes strong coffee. The orange juice also tasted like pure water. Maybe they reduced it with water. I don't know, maybe they used water to make the juice last longer but that took away the flavor of the orange juice.
The location was perfect since we were a few blocks from Time Square. a few blocks from the main Penn Station. The room is decent, spacious for the group we were going with. breakfast was good.

HungaryWe stayed at the hotel from March 29 to April 04. With a $300 pre-arrival security fee, $1,668 for 6 nights was locked upon our arrival. 1,580 was charged to my debit card when I checked out. According to my bank, April 28 is the date the blocking will be lifted. This put us in a very unpleasant situation, making our otherwise wonderful trip miserable. Apart from that, the hotel is adequate in everything.

United StatesIt's expensive, like everywhere in NYC. The hairdryer is terrible, like all hotel hair dryers! But I liked this hotel a lot. I would stay again.
Very close to times square and Broadway so a great choice for seeing shows. The breakfast was good and the people working the breakfast were super nice. They had soy milk for my coffee and cereal and even had real oatmeal, and it was so good. The place is clean, comfortable, and up to date. The room is MUCH bigger than most other NYC hotels I've stayed in.
