Unit was perfect, except under the couch cushions.

The location right on the lake is beautiful, close to a lot of stuff to do. The restaurant was fabulous, the 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit was incredible.

The room did not seem very clean when we arrived, particularly the kitchen.

Spacious studio apartment style rooms with big kitchen. Having restaurant, bar and salon on site was an added bonus. Location was handy to the city centre and bars etc.

My only negative about the room is that it did not get daily service. Many of the carpets around the hotel, especially elevators, need cleaning or replacement.

Good hotel. Location was excellent for my needs. Staff were efficient and friendly. Room was a very good size with a comfortable king bed and air conditioning worked well. Shower and toilet were very good. I liked having the restaurant on site.

The handicap accommodations were very lacking. The toilet is way way to low, there is not enough grab bars and the tub is not a zero entry facility.

The room was very clean. They allowed the drop off and pickup of a wheelchair and temporary storage of the wheelchair in a side room off the main lobby at no cost.

With full awareness of and appreciation for the age of this wonderful place, it's still important to have stress-free quiet time at the end of the day. The room is just OK. Odd that there's a kitchenette with no washing supplies leaving used glasses, cups, dishes in the sink for the whole time of our stay. The bathroom is actually kind of icky. The bathtub is PAINTED black to coordinate with the black pedestal sink and toilet (Kohler). The first use leaves all looking spotted and dirty. The floor needs a good scrubbing (not just mopping). We had to ask for shower soap and there was no apparent way to request maid service (the phone didn't work). There's no exhaust fan. Unpleasant bathroom in general. Otherwise, the bed (with sort of used-looking shabby sheets), chairs, round glass-top table and desk are lovely, newish and comfortable. But the LOCK ON THE DOOR OF OUR ROOM (412) was RIDICULOUS! No matter how many staff (I think we enlisted at least 6 during our two-day stay - including the 2-3 from maintenance) and even a neighbor on our floor, the key only opened the door when all the stars aligned and the lock-tender inside woke up. It was ridiculous! By the time we checked out, we'd probably spent an hour on just attempting to unlock the door of #412. In the end, we turned in 4 keys - all refined by maintenance to "work better" but proving to be useless.

The classic and historic aspects of this place are beautifully preserved and cared for. Common areas are stunning, like walking into an old film - exactly as depicted on their website. The exterior is a reassuring welcome site, in excellent condition and completely inviting. Lighting is done with attention to the effect it has accenting all the beautiful architecture, art work, wall and floor finishes. Nice tidy little coffee/snack area near the elevators. The restaurant and bar were perfect - our one dinner there superb, as was the service. We each (two of us) had wonderful 90 minute massages at the spa which looks spiffy and welcoming and is attended by a friendly and efficient staff. We loved that we could walk the beautiful neighborhood around the Knick and enjoy Lake Michigan and sites nearby, then return to this marvelously presented historic place at the end of the day. Dining on the terrace was a joyful bonus. We felt relaxed and special while there.

I have no compaints. The issue we had could happen anywhere in the summer in Wisconsin, and the staff was very helpful!

Very nice room, unfortunately had an ant problem in the kitchen. They were very accomodating in moving us to another room so they could tend to the issue. They then waived our parking charge.

The lotion in the bathroom wasn't filled. We didnt put the privacy sign outside the door and didnt like the idea of housekeeping cleaning, yet that could have been due to not putting out the sign. The room was a bit stuffy when we didnt keep the window open during the day. It is an older hotel, so that makes sense.

The location was excellent, could bicycle to Brady st, the lake, venues near the lake and across the rivers. The hotel was historic yet some newer renovations as well. Gave you daily weather report for the day and days ahead along with breakfast and time they're open in the elevators. We had a huge closet in the room where atleast 3 bicycles could fit in. Some dishes in our room. Liked how here was a brief info of its history at the mailboxes. The price I thought was excellent for the location, yet did book the room though booking.com.
