Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United Statesthere were roaches in the rooms, the door battery died on us and we ended up locked out of our room until midnight. it seemed like people just lived there not an actual hotel more like an apartment building. on the weekend there’s no cleaning service. we weren’t told we had to make a $200 deposit at the front door once we got there as well. which was more than the cost of the room, had to use Christmas money we still haven’t gotten back yet. overall just a bad place to stay. I know budget suites looks like it would be worse but I wish we’d stayed there because nothing could be worse than this place.

It was by a couple food places that were open on Thanksgiving, and we needed that.

I paid completely through booking days before my arrival. booking told me that I would not have to pay any money upon arrival. the lady at the front desk told me I had to pay $100. I informed her I had already paid for my room and she reassured me that this was a mandatory deposit. so I pay it. the next day I check my bank account and they only issued back $31 of the deposit and charged me for the room once again. not to mention it took a very long time to check in. when I noticed this charge I called the property and the same girl who checked me in answered and was no help. would not even consider issuing me a refund. I had to call my bank and report for fraud.

United StatesCleaner shampooed carpet, people smoking in the rooms and hallways smelled. I'm highly allergic, mattress too firm, not enough dishes to cook or use the dishwasher for. People watching porn in the room across the hall and we could hear them. We are very spiritual people so we found it very offensive to have that energy nearby.
Location, lots of transients nearby otherwise good. Our first room smelled horribly and we were located to a different room. Carpet is dirty as when I walk around the room in my socks they get dirty. Probably needs shampooing more often. Not enough dishes to really cook We had to use our own. Mattress is a bit too firm. Otherwise we enjoy our room. We especially like the ability to cook our own meals. We love the laundry facilities. The staff is friendly and helpful.
