We loved everything about this authentic and peaceful riverside property amidst the forest. We were welcomed warmly and shown around our tatami room, well furnished kitchen, and private cedar bath house. We made use of the free laundry facilities and riverside trail / communal picnic area. The property is located near a bus stop and walking distance to town (a car rental is recommended). Highlights included a cedar chopstick making workshop and bathing in the cedar bath tub looking out onto the forest. Falling asleep to the sound of the river and forest was also lovely.

The Western-style rooms at Apollo Resort Marine Blue Yakushima are air-conditioned, and includes a tea maker inside the room. Each has beach and ocean views. The simply furnished rooms have multiple windows to let in plenty of natural light.

The owners are kind and caring, and can offer excellent advice about sightseeing and hikes.
