The hotel is brand new: rooms are cozy and quite big. There's a terrace where you can enjoy a nice view on the area. The restaurant is good (prices are high as in all Finland). Breakfast is good too.

Offering a barbecue, Lake Cottage Jänisvaara is located in Kolinkylä, 11 km from Koli National Park. The accommodation features two saunas. Kolin tuoli-/maisemahissi is 8 km away. The view, the wooden sauna, the grill area, and the surrounding area. Koli National Park is a beautiful place to visit but for me, the view from the cottage was even better than the ones from the famous viewpoints in Koli. You have an inmense piece of land for yourself with direct access to a clean, clear, and calm Finnish lake. The real Finnish experience doesn't get any better than this. I hope I can come back to this place in the future. I can highly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit this part of Finland.

Aateli Lakeside Chalets - former Vuokatti Suites are peacefully located by Lake Nuasjärvi. This modern accommodation offers a private beach with a jetty. Our suite was very modern and clean with a nice view. Hotel responded to messages very fast and friendly. Location was quiet and beautiful. Breakfast was great as well as the sauna building with a pool. We also ended using quite a lot of the complimentary minigolf.

Just 100 metres from the bridge to Olavinlinna Castle, this small boutique hotel is next to Lake Saimaa in Savonlinna. It offers individually decorated rooms with scenic views and free wired internet.... Absolutely one of the best little places I've stayed anywhere! It's a cosy little place with only a couple of rooms which open up to a lawn with an amazing view of the castle and the lake. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed getting to chat with her after breakfast and learning more about the area. It was more akin to being a welcomed guest in someone's home rather than just a customer as a hotel. I would absolutely stay there again!

Located by Lake Onkivesi, 12 km from Alapitkä, is the Jokiniemen Matkailu guesthouse. We loved that our room in this cosy B&B had a stunning lake view, a patio to enjoy it from and a very nice and modern bathroom. No noise and a lot of nature. Friendly owners. We hope to come back some time.
