Situated only 4 minutes’ walk from central Ohakune, The Central Motel & Lodge features an outdoor hot tub. All studios and apartments include self-catering facilities and electric blankets. Apparently the rooms were renovated 5 years ago but they are still spotless. Real quality in the kitchen, wonderful comfortable bed and the first bathroom on our trip that didn’t have some sort of issue, in fact it was super. Great location, super friendly and helpful hosts , I doubt there’s much better comfort and value in Okakune .

Ruapehu Country Lodge is located within a 15-minute drive of Tongariro National Park, home of the world-renowned Tongariro Crossing. Free Wi-Fi access is available in this lodge. Bernie and Marie were absolutely delightful hosts and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The property is conveniently located near to the various activities in the area, which made travelling to and from a breeze! Breakfast was also amazing, and with sheep and alpaca at the property as well, I can’t recommend this stay more!

Manuka Lodge Bed and Breakfast is located just 10 minutes’ walk from the Ohakune town centre. The property features a jacuzzi, free WiFi and free on-site parking. Excellent. Felt completely at home. Very helpful advice for activities in the area. Engaging but discreet hosts. Room spacious, lovely bathroom and bed comfortable. Breakfast was terrific with good options.

A great location at the start of several hiking trails, including Tongariro hikes. The hotel has a variety of fun facilities - sauna, table tennis, billiards, super comfy common area. Liked the stay a lot, would definitely recommend

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. It’s a very lovely property to stay in, the beds are super comfy, the lounge is spacious. I had really bad blisters from a hike and couldn’t do much but spending the time in the lodge was great.

Set in National Park, Mountain Heights Lodge offers six self-contained motel units and four ensuite B&B rooms, BnB rooms welcomes children over the age of 14 and above. Private parking is free. The room is nice and comfortable with nice view outside. Small kitchen is located beside each two rooms with some ingredients while having refrigerator to keep your food, very convenient. It is well located while you would like to go to Tongariro national park.
