Situated in Kudat in the Sabah region, Inap Desa Morni has a balcony. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. The accommodation is non-smoking. I'm very happy I had the chance to stay here; in addition to the breakfast, for an additional 15MR per meal, I get large portions of good food, and the hosting family is very nice. It's a fishing village, so not sure you can get vegetarian options :) The beach is right behind the house, and snorkeling is good. The room is spaceous, and the internet is excellent. They are friends with a place a few minutes walk from here, and I've hung out there from time to time. If you want to shop, need to go to Kudat, which is around 20min by motorized vehicle.

Surrounded by lush greenery, Tampat do Aman offers accommodation in Kg Tiga Papan, 30 km from Kudat. This property offers pick-up services at an extra charge (please see fine print). Howard was so passionate and informative, he went above and beyond to make this a great stay for us. Nothing was too much trouble and his family were so welcoming and hospitable. The lodges are a great location in the jungle, but also a 25 minute walk to the beach. It's an interesting but also peaceful environment to spend a few days exploring the area. The beach walk recommend by Howard was amazing, it's like paradise!
Kudat City is not worth visiting, the only interesting place there is the food market. Well, if you do not want to see the marine life on the grill, do not go there at all. The beaches (apart from our hotel beach) were very polluted by plastic and household waste. The best restaurant in the area is in the Nine Huts Resort. Many vegetarian and vegan options too. Very helpful and smiling service. The food was probably the best we have experienced in Malaysia during our 2 weeks tour (Penang and Borneo). If you have car, go to the "secret beach", google it on the maps. There is a nice bar called Robys - definitely worth visit for the sunset. The beach is clean because the owner of the bar cleans it. No public showers there however. The bar has showers, however had no water during our visit.
my intention to go to Kudat is the Tip Of Borneo. And i like it. All the way, u can see the nice of the Kudat coutryside. And at the same time, i love the sea... and the fresh seafood that u can find in Kudat. Very Fresh and very Cheap compared to semenanjung Malaysia.
The friendly people, the sandy beaches and the coconut trees everywhere give Kudat district a special, relaxed, holiday feel, distinct from the rest of the west coast of Sabah. The Tip of Borneo is the focal point for beach goers, with its white sands and clear water, but any drive provides interesting insights into the local ways of life.
Apart from the tip of borneo, nothing much to do. Beach will not be so beautiful during Dec as the weather is bad. All the beautiful beach and blue water that you see in pictures do not apply if there is a tropical storm at the area. The Kudat down is boring and not as I have imagined. Tip, only go during good weather when the sea is calmer.
Location and accommodation is not probably not to everyone liking. If you like unpolished and very basic right at the sea than this can be your place to chill out. Tides over here are somewhere between 1,5-2 meters.
Nestled in the northern reaches of Borneo, Kudat is an enchanting district that unveils a world of natural beauty and cultural richness. Our time here was nothing short of mesmerizing. Nature enthusiasts will be enthralled by the diverse landscapes that Kudat offers. From the stunning beaches like Tip of Borneo, where the South China Sea meets the Sulu Sea in a breathtaking convergence, to the lush greenery of the countryside, Kudat paints a picture of serenity and raw beauty. The local culture and traditions are woven intricately into the fabric of everyday life. Exploring the Rungus Longhouses was a highlight, providing a glimpse into the indigenous way of life, adorned with vibrant traditions and warm hospitality. The Tamu (local market) was a kaleidoscope of colors, scents, and flavors, offering an authentic immersion into the local lifestyle. Kudat's culinary scene deserves accolades. Fresh seafood straight from the sea to the table was a delightful experience, coupled with flavorsome local dishes that tantalized our taste buds and left us craving for more. While the pace of life in Kudat is slower, it's this unhurried rhythm that allows for genuine connections with both the surroundings and the welcoming locals. For travelers seeking a serene escape filled with cultural richness, Kudat is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. Immerse yourself in its natural wonders and vibrant heritage, and you'll leave with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
