AP Eva Senses is centrally located in Faro and offers a roof-top pool and a health club with sauna and Turkish bath. The airport and beach are only 10 km away. Live music at breakfast + stunning view added a wonderful vibe to my stay.
The hotels location was perfect and has a long boardwalk built through the nature reserve which allows access to the beach and various good fun restaurants. The Bold Octopus being one is definitely worth a visit. We were lucky enough to drop in late one afternoon to sit on the roof terrace with a drink and enjoy live music. We returned one evening to eat there and the seafood menu was very good. Julia’s beach at the end of the boardwalk has a variety of beach bars and restaurants which are definitely work the ride (or long walk) to visit. We decided not to rent a car and use bikes rented from the hotel which proved to be perfectly adequate for sight seeing, visiting shops and restaurants. Hotel Quinta do Lago was beautifully furnished, had a wonderful pool with a good many sun beds for all of the guests and a fabulous breakfast!! Our room had a large sea view balcony and was spacious and well equipped. The bathroom was also very spacious, scrupulously clean and well stocked with products. The hotel staff made our stay with their friendliness and their willingness to help in every way possible. Can’t wait to go back
Faro was beautiful and so peaceful at this time of year. More bars were starting to open up towards the end of my stay. The beaches were amazing. Ilha Deserta and Ilha Tavari are well worth a visit and worth staying a few hours to really enjoy them. I loved walking round the old town and plenty of places to take a rest and relax. I also really emjoyed being able to get to islands by boat and going to the beach by boat is far nicer than going on the bus (and not a long walk when you get off as there is with the bus). I didn't do the usual sightseeing places as I was there just to relax and destress. I enjoyed having lots of space on the beaches and the streets being queiter though still a bit busy. I could easily have spent another week exploring. The people are friendly and very polite. Cars stop to let you cross the road and it was like nobody was in a rush. Used the train to get to Tavari then got a boat out to Ilha Tavari. All the time I was in Faro I never felt unsafe and never got any hassle. I went out alone in the evening and felt comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay in Faro. As the days passed I fell more and more in love with Faro. Great bus service, train service and ferry boat service - especially considering it was out of season.
This is an upmarket area in the Algarve. It is well maintained and a lovely place to relax. The Ria Formosa national park, which is nearby, is a beautiful place to walk and watch nature. If you are a golfer, this is a great place to stay, although playing golf here is expensive. The roads are clean and easy to get around. One of the best restaurants in the area is the Green Valley, which I highly recommend. There are several others offering good quality food.
We were very pleasantly surprised with Faro, we initially picked the destination for convenience and some sunny weather but got a lot more. Plenty of restaurants and activities to keep us busy on our short stay. We had a excellent food four with a local guide, spent a lovely day on Faro Beach which was way beyond our expectations and visited a local winery for a tasting tour which was really nice and great value for money, Faro offer a variety of different restaurants , all great value
The hotel itself was good, but the location dreadful. The noise of airplanes taking off and landing every few minutes was constant from 6am. They were flying so low you could read the name of the airline with no difficulty. Perhaps would make a good de luxe airport hotel, but not a peaceful holiday hotel. On that basis would not recommend or return.
Good for 3 days/ 2 nights - get out to the beaches and islands - cheapest way is by ferry to Praia de Faro - just a few euros. City is small enough to walk around. Check out 100 Montaditos for cheap snacks
Convenient for Airport and onward journey next day. We were able to get a good, inexpensive meal in the restaurant at 10pm at night after arriving from Faro Airport. Hotel is much nicer than in photos. Large bathroom and room. Very comfortable beds. Good choice at breakfast in pleasant breakfast room. Friendly staff.Free parking. There was a music and dancing event on in restaurant as it was Friday night. We enjoyed the family atmosphere and music stopped by 11.30pm so not a problem. Would stay again. Great price with breakfast included.
