Situated on a picturesque rose garden, Phoenix Thermal Resort - Taupo is 2 minutes' walk from Lake Taupo and 20 minutes' walk from Taupo City Centre. It is 2.7 km from Taupo Airport.

Washing powder was available on site. The personal gladly borrowed us a clothing hanger. The room was clean and well equipped. The resort is few steps from the lake and restaurants.

The unit was well designed, on a duplex basis. Downstairs had kitchen/diner, comfortable seating, and a shower room & lavatory. Upstairs was a comfortable bedroom with a large spa bath and lavatory in the adjacent bathroom. There as a sun balcony. This was the best equipped unit in which I have stayed - Fridge/freezer, dishwasher, waste disposal, roasting oven, microwave etc + a good wash/drier. Even the washing powder was included. Good range of Sky Channels on the TV

Clean, spacious, well equipped room. The kitchenette worked great for tending to meals. It was a nice convenience to have a washer and dryer in the room. It was in a great location. Walkable to the lake, restaurants and stores. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The way the mutts are set, all have balconies with good outdoor seating. The kitchen area was fabulous, everything you need for self catering. Loretta the Manager was amazing, so friendly, polite and helpful. Kylie on reception was very helpful and efficient. All in all a great stay, I’d definitely stay there again next time I’m in Taupo.

Attractive landscaping surrounds about 20 rooms in this 2 story complex. Ours was on the second floor with a straight out view of the lake. I loved everything about this place - including the reception staff who proved both informative and helpful. And after settling in we walked the two minutes to the compact and lovely downtown.

Friendly welcoming hosts, clean modern room (we had 5 nights in room 11) with uninterrupted view of lake Taupo and the three snow covered mountains beyond. Self catering is possible through we chose to make the most of the numerous eateries in town many of which are within walking distance. We would stay here again.

This was probably the best self-catering place for 2 people we stayed in. Very comfortable, spotless, very well designed and obviously everthing thought about carefully. Excellent equipment - especially the dishwasher! Very quiet and peaceful. Able to see the stars at night as no light pollution. Very easy drive from Taupo.
