Troy Lodge is the perfect spot for people visiting Lusaka for research and business for more than a few days. It is in a very safe neighborhood where even single females can walk around safely during the daylight (evenings are still not recommended anywhere in the city). It is walkable to UNZA and EastPark, so easy to get groceries and run errands. The in-unit bathroom, electric kettle, and refrigerator allow guests to have a certain level of self-sufficiency and privacy, which is particularly important for guests who are staying longer. The premise and the units are clean, well-lit with natural lighting, and have clear signs that someone with design knowledge designed the place; it has a coziness to the it that other lodges I've stayed at in Lusaka does not have. The price is unbeatable for what it offers. In fact, I find the price so low that I'm starting worry about the lodge's bottom-line; I would rather they raise the price a bit instead of underpaying the staff or fold in a few years! I think raising it to $60/night is perfectly acceptable. This is my go-to place in Lusaka and I've recommended it to multiple colleagues. Finally, the staff here is super accommdating and friendly. My floors and bathrooms are always spotless, sheets clean, and clothes perfectly pressed. The kitchen staff even accommodated my odd request of cooked bondwe.
