If you don't need breakfast or daily cleaning service, this place offers incredible value for the money and feels more than a small Airbnb than a hotel, since the room included a sofa, a table, and a kitchen. Everything was clean and check-in/check-out went very smooth for us. The location right in Gion is also perfect, as I think Gion is one of the best areas in Kyoto at night.

It’s far better than many four or even five stars that I have stayed in big cities in Japan. It’s spacious, tastefully designed, sparkling clean and quiet. Its staff is efficient and helpful. All these locate in a central place of main tourism attractions of Kyoto, many of them are with walking distance. No breakfast is provided, but, with the Familymart two minutes away you get everything you need.

For an additional fee, the concierge service is available to create bespoke itineraries and assist guests with arranging cultural experiences, restaurant reservations and airport shuttle. A bicycle rental service is available at the aparthotel. We loved our stay at Komatsu! The interiors were lovely and well thought out in regards to the amenities. The location was quiet and close walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shopping. The hosts were also extra helpful in arranging transportation and luggage storage as well. We would highly recommend and would stay again!

Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The location was great and the soundproofing between rooms were excellent. The tv also provided YouTube and Netflix for the kids.
