I travel a lot for work and this is an excellent place: incredibly well furnished at a high standard, immaculately clean and very central, but quiet. I absolutely appreciated that the proprietors had left tea, coffee etc for the first day, so that one does not have to rush to a supermarket after a long journey (although there is one just over the little brook). Some real thought has gone into the place. The landlord/landlady are very nice and helpful. This is the second time we have stayed at Kissinger and I am not surprised that they are already booked for the next time we come to Detmold.

Ver cozy apartment, all new, and refurbished, the room is comfortable and nice, and the kitchen has everything that you need and even more to make you feel like home (like dishwasher) In addition, the owners are a very lovely couple that makes your stay feel like home. I got a call from the owner who checked with us estimated time of arrival. He met us personally, showed everything around. It was super nice of him to light up the furnace in agreed time so once we got back later in the evening the premise was well heated and warm. The place is quiet and nothing disturbs your sleep. We look forward to return.

    Ver cozy apartment, all new, and refurbished, the room is comfortable and nice, and the kitchen has everything that you need and even more to make you feel like home (like dishwasher) In addition, the owners are a very lovely couple that makes your stay feel like home.     The apartment was very spacious, it was also very comfortable to sleep in as the external blinds could cut any lights and sounds. Superb location - everything within 10 minutes walking distance. Private parking place was a cherry on the cake. The hosts Stefan and Kirsten were also vary hospitable. I very much recommend this place, much more value for money compared to a hotel room.

    This is the best place to stay in Detmold! You can walk to grocery and bakery. It is a beautiful, spacious, and quiet place. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner in their lovely modern kitchen which had everything we needed. The flat is in a charming residential area. Private parking space for our rental car. The host was helpful, kind, and immediately responded to our questions. Excellent!! Our daughter lives in Detmold and it was a 10 minute walk to her place and the park and opera house. We will rent this place again!

    The very friendly host waited for us after providing our estimated arrival time, and gave us a short history of this very old and historic house. The house itself, like most others in Detmold, is indeed very interesting and beautiful, both from the outside and inside. The studio apartment on the top floor was equipped with a modern kitchen, but we didn't needed it due to all the close-by options. The small dining/living room is also big enough for 2 people. You can park for free above the Palaisgarten, just a 15min walk uphill.
