Cristina was an amazing host. Very friendly and courteous. Every morning for breakfast, we enjoyed a basket with a variety of local products, that was brought to our door. We were also able to make requests at any time, which were dealt with immediately and got really nice recommendations of what to do in the area. The flat is located right by the stream and is perfect if you want to spend a peaceful and relaxing time in the nature. There is also a goat farm right next door, which can be visited, and the view from the apartment as well as the surrounding area is incredible beautiful. We were also able to use the bikes at any time, but a car is still recommended for travelling to the nearby villages and especially the nature reserve, which can both be reached in around 30 minutes. We really enjoyed our stay at Be Alva and would always come back!

First of all the responses and replies from Paula and Marcia were excellent, prompt and informative. Never have we seen such quick responses any time of the day...I was -4hr GMT. The apartment was clean and comfortable...All amenities for a comfortable stay was available. .They were there to greet us and explained everything in detail. They arranged a nice, must visit, cheese making factory. The breakfast was excellent. Looking forward to our next trip. Thanks once again Paula and Marcia...you made our New Year Bright! We had the most wonderful stay at Casa Pelourinho. The owner is very kind and attentive lady, and the apartment is fantastic. We came later at night, and we had some food waiting for us, and fire at the fireplace, what a thoughtful and generous act! Everything was clean and comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Melo is an interesting little historic town and has great access to many points of interest across Serra do Estella.
