Discover the city that brought us the Beatles in just two days and enjoy iconic landmarks while also savouring some traditional British food. From Concert Square to famous locations that inspired songs that have been known for generations, here’s the best of Liverpool to be enjoyed in just 48 hours.

Start your first day with a nice breakfast at a cute little café in the centre of Liverpool. With a varied menu that can accommodate all dietary requirements, Lovelocks Coffee Shop is a lovely place to start planning your day and to get an energy boost before you start exploring.

You can’t be in Liverpool and not visit iconic Beatles destinations. Some of the most famous songs of Ringo, George, John and Paul were inspired by Liverpool and Penny Lane is the best example. This quaint small street still exists to this day, offering visitors the chance to walk along it and see how it inspired the eponymous song of The Beatles.

Tate Liverpool is one of four galleries in the UK. It’s full of international modern art, and makes for a very interesting visit for any art enthusiast. Explore the museum by yourself or rent an audio guide and let yourself get lost around the gallery.

After enjoying some modern art, take a stroll through Sefton Park and breathe some fresh air in the middle of Liverpool. Once in the park, you can also admire Palm House and visit its botanical collections – we’d highly recommend participating in some of the events organised here.

Towards the end of day, it’s time to grab a snack and a drink at Berry and Rye. As a very cosy establishment, it’s a great place to cool down and rest after a day of visiting beautiful sights. After recharging your batteries, you can get ready to explore the nightlife of Liverpool.

The Liverpudlian nightlife is famous throughout the region, so don’t miss out on seeing how the locals unwind at the end of the day at the Concert Square. A place full of bars and clubs, it has something for everyone and it’s the perfect spot to end your first day in the city.

Start your second day in Liverpool with a delicious brunch at the Cosy Club. In a great central location, this nice café is the perfect location for any meal and a lovely place to prepare for the upcoming day of visiting around the city.

Strawberry Fields was initially an orphanage and inspired John Lennon to write the eponymous song for The Beatles. Now, you can go to the visitor centre, walk around the gardens and visit the café and shop. If you’re an avid Beatles fan, you can find a lot of interesting exhibitions and museums around the city.

Continuing the musical experience around Liverpool, you can’t miss The Beatles Story. From costumes to instruments, collectable posters and a deep-dive inside the band that changed Rock and Roll music forever, the exhibition is unforgettable.

Take a break for lunch and taste some traditional English food at Yanni’s Fish & Chips. Right in the city centre, this small restaurant has both outdoor and indoor tables, so you can choose where to relax and enjoy a great meal before continuing your journey around Liverpool.

If you’re an architecture and history enthusiast, make sure to visit the Museum of Liverpool. Learn how this beautiful city became a cradle of trade and construction, as well as how the whole region of North West developed and grew to the size it is now.

While you’re in the neighbourhood, be sure to drop by The Cavern Club, the famous bar where The Beatles performed 292 times. Of course, we can’t talk about the history of Liverpool without talking about The Beatles.
