Ciara – travel blogger and storyteller – is no stranger to taking on “daring adventures” or “walking into the unknown”. And even though the Coronavirus has paused her travel plans, she has still managed to find a different type of adventure – isolating in her hometown with family. The good news, the pandemic hasn't stopped Ciara from dreaming up her next big trip.

We recently caught up with Ciara for a sneak peek of the destinations she’s adding to her travel wish list on the Booking.com app.

Where in the world were you before Coronavirus travel restrictions?

I was just returning from a trip to Hollywood, Florida.

Where are you now?

I am currently in Houston, Texas, where I was born and raised. It's been really nice to reunite with my family in a way that I haven't been able to for years.

What trips did you have planned at this point in time?

Due to the nature of my job as a Content Creator, my calendar is always relatively open-ended. I typically plan 1-2 months out max. Dubai, India, Japan, Memphis and Germany were in my plans but no major bookings were made. However, I am looking forward to an adventure soon.

What are you missing most about travel?

I miss the opportunity to meet people. I've been surrounded by my family for the past few months, which is great. However, I really do miss meeting new people from different backgrounds and cultures on a whim. I also miss the spontaneity and the unknown. With quarantine, the days seem to go by slowly and everything is so predictable. As a naturally curious person, I'm ready for some novelty.

What three countries are on the top of your Booking.com wish list? And why?

I'd love to visit Mongolia for its mystery and nomadic culture, Norway for its incredible landscapes and Sri Lanka for its rich culture. My wish list is always full, but I've been particularly drawn to these countries for a while now.

From all the places you’ve visited, what destinations would you recommend people add to their Booking.com wish list?

I'd recommend Iceland for its otherworldly landscapes, Kenya for its epic Masai Mara National Safari Park, New Orleans for its Cajun food and Greece for its unique islands. The list is truly endless.

As far as accommodations you’ve stayed in, what are your top choices so far?

Azulik in Mexico and the Venetian in Vegas. I love it when accommodation is a unique experience in itself.

What’s the first trip you plan to take once travel restrictions lift?

I could be in Mexico within two hours! It's one of my favorite countries because of its varied landscapes. I could hit some white-powder beaches in Tulum, stuff my face with tacos in Mexico City or swim with whale sharks in La Paz.

If you too are like Ciara and have been dreaming big about your next trip, create your travel wish list on the Booking.com app – so keep those travel bags packed and on standby.
