On this full-day tour from Ypres, you will have the opportunity to visit famous World War I sites and learn more about the historic events that took place here.
Your guide will lead you on a tour that will take you to Vimy Ridge to admire the Vimy Canadian National Memorial, a tribute to all Canadians who served during the war. Here you will find the Grange Tunnel and the front trenches used during the important battle of Vimy Ridge. You will also have time to explore the large cemetery and visitor education centre.
The next stop will be the huge crater caused by an underground explosion that took place on the first day of the Battle of the Somme and the Thiepval Monument, dedicated to the fallen in this battle. The tour will also include a visit to the Newfoundland Memorial at Beaumont-Hamel, a site that comprises an important battlefield for this regiment and a visitor centre with useful information about Newfoundland's contributions during the war.
