This workshop will introduce you to one of Bulgaria’s oldest and most respected customs – picking roses and extracting their oil. You’ll head to a mini distillery where you’ll learn about the Kazanlak rose and join rose pickers dressed in typical folk costumes.
Once your roses have been selected, you’ll head to a traditional house where you’ll learn how to brew the rose oil and extract rosewater. You'll get to try a rose-flavoured sweet as well as gulovitsa and rose liqueur. Your tour will also include a visit to a soap factory where you’ll watch a demonstration on how to make soaps scented with the sweet smell of roses.
