On this private day trip from Lijiang, you'll get to visit Shaxi Ancient Town, a former prosperous hub along the ancient Tea Horse Road. After a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive, you'll arrive. You'll see the ruins of ancient buildings, stone bridges, roads and streets, and hear insight from your guide into the history of the area and the lives of the local Bai people. On Friday, you will see the local villagers ride down the mountain on horses to trade goods.

Next, you'll visit the Ming Dynasty Xingjiao Temple, the largest and most representative Buddhist Tantra temple in China. You'll go on to see an ancient opera stage and Yuxi Bridge, and stop for lunch at a local restaurant. At the end of the tour, you'll have the option to be dropped off at your hotel in Lijiang, Dali or Shaxi.
