On this one-hour self-guided audio tour of the dark side of Aberdeen, you’ll walk 1.5 kilometres through hundreds of years of history learning about the city’s piracy, slavery and insurrection past.
You’ll pass key landmarks including Mercat Cross, Aberdeen Harbour, Aberdeen Maritime Museum and Provost Ross House, Marischal Square and Marischal College and Provost Skenes House with audio insights into their history and significance.
The audio can be accessed offline and plays automatically when your GPS is at the location. You can take a break at any time, maybe for a scoop of Mackies ice cream as you wander beside their famous parlour.
