On this private, guided tour, you'll visit the most important places in the town of San Giovanni Rotondo. You'll be led by a knowledgeable local guide who will share insight into the history of these sites. You'll start at the ancient church with its simple façade and baroque-style nave. At the second entrance to the convent, you'll see the cell of Padre Pio and the crypt where his body was housed before being transferred to a nearby sanctuary. You'll then move on to the new church, built to accommodate the thousands of pilgrims who come to the area. The tour will conclude at the sanctuary, one of the largest churches in Italy and designed by architect Renzo Piano.
